Hi everyone, I'm new to the site, but have been trying to get in shape for the last few years. Here's my dilemma: I eat well during the week, exercise 3-4 days a weeks, but once Friday evening hits, it all goes down the drain. I eat bad, no exercise, and so on.Does anyone have tips to overcome this?

I exercise more on weekends so I can eat more and not worry about calories.

i'm in the same boat. i'm still losing, just not as fast as i could be. all my friends want to do is drink! and that really sets me back, because once i'm buzzed, the bad food gets whipped out, and i start pigging out! i know if i could just cut out the drinking it would do me wonders, because that's already too many calories in itself!

I battle the same thing. Really, you just need to make small improvements. If you don't find yourself hitting the gym, go for a walk, lift some weights (if you have some at home, if not...invest....even free weights aren't that expensive). I do this in the morning when the hubs is still sleeping or out golfing. Try to make healthier choices. You can do it!!

You have to make the conscious decision and effort to not let anything derail your success. Ultimately, it isn't the weekend's fault... or your friends... or anyone/anything else's... it's your decision whether you succeed or fail.

Plan ahead. That would be my number 1 advice. Good luck!

this was the story of my life there is no quick answer it is sheer motivation and if we want it harder enough it will come but this is about a life change and making sacrifices[ that eventually will not feel like sacrifices] that give us a better way of life. Make small goals so that you will feel more encourage to continue over the weekend. I have Friday as my weigh in day so I can have a glass or two of wine and a nice tea[ but not go too excessive/calorific through out the day] so I have all week to make a difference I take my kids out and see friend but keep active such as go on long walks and have a picnic or bike rides thing to keep me occupied hope this helps good luck

I find it very hard to work out on the weekends, I usually have all the kids and the hubby home, at least every other weekend. Sometimes I can get out Saturday morning if the hubby doesn't have to work. Set mini goals for yourself, join one of the biggest loser challenges on here to keep you motivated. Go through your home and get rid of all the snack food (yes, I know some of you are gasping) If you do not have the food in your home to help you eat wrong, then it will be a lot harder to do it. This is a lifestyle change, which means for the rest of your life you are going to have to make changes in habits slowly so that you can stick to them or the benefits from the changes you are making will not stick for the long term.

Find out why it's so hard to stick to eating healthy on the weekends and start changing the reasons. Usually you will find it is just your state of mind. Just because it is the weekend doesn't mean it's your bodies time to party. Sometimes we can't have the luxury of going out and drinking with the girls (well we can but we need to stick to one drink, then having water or something diet, you get the point.) Small changes....they go a long way. Good Luck.

The eating is something you have to get control of yourself. There isn't an easy fix, you just have to keep yourself out of the situations that make you break (or find healthier alternatives at those locations).

For the exercise, I do my 5 days of exercise Sunday-Thursday, since I typically camp or go out on the weekends and I exercise at night. That makes it where I don't miss the Friday workout because I have plans for the weekend.
