Increasing Calories-- Help!

I started MFP with a 1200cal/day diet. So far (in about 2 months) I have lost 18 pounds and have gone from an overweight to a "normal" BMI. Before the 1200 cal diet felt manageable, but lately I have been feeling hungry, "shaky", and lethargic. I've barely even been able to get to the gym this past week (Yes, I've been eating my exercise calories lol).

I have decided to increase my calories from 1200 to 1400 calories/day. (Estimated weight loss from approx. 2 lbs/week to 1lb/week)

I know on the message boards I've seen some stories about people that have had a lot of success by increasing their caloric intake, but I just can't find anything right now!

I know this is best for my body but it just feels...weird! There's been this false belief that by cutting calories you lose weight. It seems so funny to do the opposite.

Anyways, if anyone has increased their calories and had success with it, I would LOVE to hear from you! Thanks
