I know I need to lose weight. I know I am not healthy. I know I will die early if I don;t make some changes. I know I eat wrong and don't exercise enough. But I cannot for my own life's sake, make lifestyle changes that last. I need support. I need motivation. I NEED HELP!!!

You've come to the right place! Having some friends to cheer you on is so great. I was never one for social network kind of stuff, but now I'm totally hooked. Friend me! Food has been my enemy for a long time too, but I'm learning to defeat the stuff and finding out that I can control IT, not the other way around.0

I know how hard the mental part of making that lifestyle change is. I tend to yo-yo because I'll get very motivated when some weight comes off and then when it stops, I just go back to old eating habits. It's been my lifelong struggle so props to you for making the initial attempt this time around. If you need a friend, add me. It's better when you have friends to support you and keep you motivated. Best of luck to you.0

Have you tried checking out other members' diaries? You might get an idea how to eat more healthily.
You're being very honest in your diary, but you do seem to find it difficult to make healthy choices. It might also help to divide your calorie allowance into meals, so that you ration yourself through the day.
Good luck

Hello and welcome !
This site is great, it is really the only thing that has worked for me without me giving up and reverting back to my old over-eating self. Before mfp I didnt think I needed support to lose weight but I really think its the key and im very lucky to have met some fantastic people as my friends on here. Also the amazing success stories are a great source of motivation. I think its important to take things slowly dont over complicate things. I slowly lowered my calories over the months and set myself small goals along the way which has really helped.
I wish you the best of luck with your weightloss

Welcome

Welcome! It's daunting, I know. You'll get some good support here. I don't know how much you have to lose, but my advice: it's a marathon, not a sprint. Don't expect your mind and body to adapt to any changes in your diet and physical activity overnight. Give yourself small steps so you set yourself up to succeed. Example: If you drink lattes...switch to coffee and low fat creamer (flavored)...that will cut calories but you still have your "treat." Another example that helped me a lot in the beginning...switch from chips to pretzels and eat only the suggested serving. That will curb your salt cravings, if you get those (I do). Or, you could count your calories for a few days of your current eating habits, and try to cut down the calories slightly over one week. You get the idea...Feel free to send me a friend request if you need some motivation or moral support. We all have good and bad days, but put the bad behind and start fresh the next day if you mess up! You can do it!!! Good luck.0
