Hello all my MFP peeps. I was just wondering if there were any other daycare/preschool workers or directors on here?
I am a first year director in Mississippi. I've been a nanny, then got involved working in childcare facilites about 7 years ago.
I have been a lead caregiver/teacher in every age group except school age after care. The majority of my time was with the infant class, before pursuing my director liscense.

Hi I work as a home educator. I look after 3 pre-schoolers and 3 after school children at the moment. It 's hard work but also has lots of fun times, we were up at the zoo yesterday. It's not a great job as far as snacking is concerned, some days it's hard to stay out of the pantry0

Hey there EliteDeeDee77, I am formerly a kindergarten teacher and teaching assistant. Hoping to get back to that, actually, but need to re-train in Norway. I've taught from the age of 4 to 16 years old. I taught english to Spanish children for three years, but unfortunately my studies aren't up to date enough for Norway, so I'll have to retrain and possibly take a pediology course here to properly qualify as a teacher. Nice to meet others who have taught or teach very small children.0

I used to be a director of an afterschool program. We had anywhere between 60 to 110 children depending on what time of the year.0

I am not a preschool teacher... but I do have a preschool son. He has autism, and the job his teachers do with him four days a week is really so important and fantastic. I just wanted to throw some love this way. What you guys do is incredibly important.0

It's very nice to see so many of you that are working with preschool children. It is one of the most stressful jobs to have but very rewarding. It is such a tremendous responsibility to carry because of the rapid development of the brain and individual personality of each child in those first 5 years. That first trust relationship with a caregiver/teacher can wire the responsed that a person will have in regard to responding to or respecting authority. Keep up all the hark work, and be encouraged that although the investment you make now may never be fullly acknowledged it is appreciated by others who are doing their best to make a difference as well.0

I taught kindergarten for 3 years. We have more structured hours, and I couldn't snack (except maybe at recess, but we were supposed to be out with the kids mostly), but there were a lot of pressures now that it's "real" school. ... lol, preschool is very important too! I could usually tell the ones who'd been with mom all day and the ones who'd been in pre-K or even a day care with curriculum. Props for what you do!0

I am a Montessori teacher in a Primary (3-6) room. Our school has an excellent cook! He gets offended when I bust out my tuna packets or lentil soup! Poor dude.0
