Another question about protein shots (UK)

Ok, I'm trying to increase my protein intake in my normal diet but would like to supplement on days that I do weights/ circuit training.
I cannot tolerate the powder shakes, I just can't do it, they make me vomit. I've seen the bars but they look too high in carbs and or fat for me to consider. Protein shots look to be the answer - 27g protein, 0 carbs, 0 fat and 86ml which I think I could just about swallow. Any good? At £3+ each from holland and barretts I need to know they're worth it. Thanks

That's a lot of money per hit, not sure I'd pay that amount.
I've just opened Phd Pharma Whey HT+... No lumps at all and tastes good too, you can have half amounts at 200mls a time. The other Phd stuff I've had was good too.0 -
I've tried the Dymatize Tropical punch protien shot - possibley one of the most repuslive things I have ever had in my mouth.
BUT - I did feel the benefit. A lot less fatigued (went from pretty heavy weight training to Salsa) and I have to say, no nasty after taste.
Pretty sure they're less than £3 a go - will try and find you a link0 -
I'm one of these faddy eater people, or I used to be. But I still can't bear thick liquids, I just gag on them. The frothiness of assimilated protein makes me gip and I definitely do not do milk shakes or smoothies.0

This made me laugh. I actually said that about the protein powder. Thought the shots might be easier, cause I've paid similar prices for similarly minging shots in town!0 -

lol - you do not want to know - Dodgy Donner Kebabs is only half the story - though probably protein packed lol.0 -

I am in no way endorsing the below link as I got it off Google.
http://www.explosivenutrition.co.uk/dymatize-elite-liquid-protein-25g-12-x-2oz?utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=googlebase&utm_content=Dymatize+Elite+Liquid+Protein+25g+(12+x+2oz)-Tropical+Splash
I've had the shot - tastes disgusting, no after taste, lower fatigue, easy way to get protein into the body.0 -
Hi hail87666,
I agree with you: most protein shakes taste *awful* and I hate the frothiness. However, I have eventually found a protein shake that didn't taste too bad. All the previous protein shakes I've had in the past taste so bad that I would feel a little sick even at the thought of drinking it (especially the smell; oh gods, the smell), but while this one isn't exactly delicious like all the reviews you read say, I really don't mind the taste at all and quite happily drink it all the time:
"Optimum Nutrition 100 Whey Gold Standard"
The two flavours I've tried so far are the "Chocolate" and the "Rocky Road" flavour. Out of the two, I prefer Rocky Road, especially if you don't want to mix it with milk. If you mix it with just water, you don't get the frothiness. I have a tub of the "Chocolate" at the moment which really does need milk to make it taste like chocolate (if you use just water it tastes like when you have hot chocolate and you haven't added enough chocolate powder). I've heard and read that the "Chocolate Mint" is by far the best, but I have yet to try it myself.
The other thing that I find helps with the frothiness is if you mix up your protein shake and then just leave the mixer in the fridge for a while. The frothiness will go down and, since it's been in the fridge, it feels and tastes just the same as when you made it fresh, just without the gag inducing foaminess.
I hope that all helps. =]0
