How many fat grams or carbs should you get in a day? And what's too much?
I have been trying to count calories and eat my protein first.

It depends on your current weight and your goals...0

I just try to keep it below the MFP guidelines. But protein first is the way to go! Protein, fiber and water along with exercise are keys to a healthy lifestyle.
I also watch the sodium and processed foods as they not beneficial to your health.

I think MFP is sticking to the rule of thumb that you should not eat more than 30% of your calories from fat. I try to keep mine at 25%, only because this means I'm filling up on the fiber that I need.
