I am ALMOST at 199... it's my goal! I've been doing 30 Day Shred for 10 days so far... but I haven't even changed weight in 2 weeks, why? Is it plateau?

I have been told that you will lose inches more than weight doing the 30 DS. I will be doing this bad boy.

Last week I had something happen to me that was totally strange, for 3 days in a row my weight went up despite me doing all the right things, exercising and eating well under my calorie goal but always well above 1500 calories. On the third day it went up by over 1lb and I was well under my calorie goals.
On the 4th day it showed that I had lost 3lbs so from one day to the next I oose 3lbs? Weird right...

Well the body has silly ways of holding on to fluids and processing foods so as long as you're doing the right thing and not starving yourself you shouldn't worry too much about what the scale says, eventually sooner or later it will start going down.

Your body is just that. Your body. Are you drinking enough water? Are you eating healthy? What's your sodium intake?

Do you give your body a day of rest? I know when I work out really hard everyday, my weight is up. For one your muscles can be retaining water trying to repair themselves. If you give your body a day or two of rest, more than likely your weight will drop down. Also, are you eating enough? Your body needs some mega fuel to work out like that everyday! You will see results very soon:)

it definitely is possible, i plateau every 10 to 20 lbs. I've lost 33 so far and plateaued 3 times. Everytime I have to increase my workouts. I started out doing half an hour three days a week and plateaued after 10 lbs, increased my workouts to an hour three times a week and again plateaued, then increased again to an hour everyday, plateaued AGAIN! lol. i don't know if i can keep this up but geez. so i started wogging; lol my term for the couch to 5k program. I do this three times a week, I jog for 30 seconds, then power walk for 2, 3 minutes, and do this for about an hour. and every other day, when i'm not doing the wogging, i do at home workout videos. the reason i like the wogging is because, as it gets easier for me, i will continually increase my workouts, whether it be duration, speed, etc, i will constantly increase according to what i need. so i really like this for that reason. i feel like i may not plateau this way. also try to remember that when you firsttt increase your workouts you tend to bloat, i know i do. i gained 10 lbs from bloating alone. not everyone gains weight from bloating but i sure as hell do. it took about 3 weeks before i stopped bloating. i no longer felt all swollen, so i weighed myself and i dropped those 10 lbs. there can be so many things at work, muscle also weighs more than fat. it's only been 2 weeks so i wouldn't worry too much, it could be anything. i think loss in inches is a lot more reliable than loss on the scale.

Kylakes - I'm doing under 1,200 but that's my daily goal

Eh, 30DS made me stay at the same weight, too.
That's why I hardly do it anymore.
I'm thinking, if you're doing the shred every day, it's because your muscles hold on to water in order to heal.
Therefore, if they're being strained daily, they're going to continue to hold on to water.

    Make sense?
    That's just my guess.
  • If you have lost them quickly, it's possible... Don't give up, try to increase your calories for one day or two, and then you'll see. Try as well to take your measures, sometimes the balance doesn't move but your body does !

Don't you dare quit girl!! You have worked too hard. Honestly you probably aren't eating enough and your body is hanging on to every single calorie. If you are just eating 1200 calories and not eating back ANY of your exercise calories, you will plateau. The thing is what works for me or someone else, might not work for you. You just have to have your "happy" numbers of calories. I do know that for a female we shouldn't net below 1200 calories and I'm guilty of that myself. When you burn a lot of calories, it's hard to eat them all back but at try to eat some of them back because your body needs fuel to perform. I've been here since the end of January and yeah I've lost 25 lbs but it's a struggle every day. You just have to keep going! We didn't gain this weight overnight and it will take awhile to lose it but it's gonna be soooo worth it. Change up your calorie intake to mix things up every now and then. Our bodies get used to the same calories and exercise so we have to be sneaky about it lol. You CAN do this!!!

    I agree...eat more.

Perhaps you've kickstarted your metabolism and now need more fuel to keep the body going and not starve it.

Don't quit! It's really not hard. Wogging is the best thing to have happened to me. It's really not hard at all! You pop your head phones in and go into your own world and when you jog you just focus on your breathing and you won't think about it. You'll start to like the burn, and you'll start to enjoy being sore. Exercise can be so addictive, if you give it time. I used to dread exercise, I HATED it, I was inactive my wholeeee life, but after making myself exercise everyday for months I eventually found it very addictive, and hate NOT working out, because now it makes me feel good, it makes me happy, and I like being healthy and I like feeling this way. You will to, you just have to push yourself. If you want to lose weight why would you quit? Quiting won't get you anywhere. This is your life and only you can take control over it. You don't have to do what I do you can find something else you find fun, like dancing or what have you. The 30 day shred is awesome, I've tried it out and I love it and you may be losing inches and gaining muscle, don't rely on the scale. Bring active, it's not just for weight loss, but for your health, your life. It's not easy, but nothing in life ever is. And it will get easier. Don't take the easy way out, don't give up, you can do this. Believe in yourself.
