Waiting out a plateau

Hello,
I'm six weeks in, and I've lost 6lbs so far...but things are starting to plateau and I wanted to gauge how long people generally ride it out before the body adapts and starts losing again?
Thanks to being a dedicated yo-yoer in past years, my body has got pretty clever about how it reacts to my 'health and fitness' phases.
However this time I'm in training to do a half marathon. I'm working out with at least three runs a week, including two 4 milers and a longer run (just up to 6 miles) - where I'm trying to add a mile on each week to my longer runs.
I go to the gym once or twice weekly, I run outside twice weekly, and I'm eating fruit - veggies and soups - I'm keeping to my calorie in-take of 1000 - 1200. On the weekend, I have a little blow out with wine and socialising - which although isn't great....I think of as a reward for my exercise calories that I win back during the week but don't use. I do still try and watch the food intake though as well.
I can feel my body changing - but the scales aren't swaying. Which makes me question whether it's all in my mind and my body isn't changing at all!
I'm 5ft 7
cw 162lb
first gw 145lb
final gw 135lb

I think your plateau is probably your body in starvation mode. That is not nearly enough calories, especially with all your activity. I notice for myself, even the lowest recommendation of 1200 calories my body will not lose. When I up it to about 1600, I start losing. I am not nearly as active as you are. Maybe try eating more. Bet that will work better for you.0

You need to eat more for sure!!!
Try upping it to 1500 calories.
Also pay more attention to how your clothing is fitting more than the scale. While I was at a plateau for a couple weeks, I lost a bit in the waist.0 -
Hi Lucy, I have the same problem as I zigzag between 74-75kg and havent lost anything for the last month, I have a 1200 cal goal but have been eating over it at 1400. This is with about 500 cal of excercise a day. So my gym trainer said to up the cardio intensity, gee great I already go pretty hard out. But maybe you could give high intensity interval training a go?
All the best!

I agree with the others, on the days you are running you arent eating anywhere near enough. If you are training for a half marathon i would concentrate on your fitness more than losing weight, and make sure you are gettign plenty of protien for muscles and good carbs for energy.0
