Okay, so I have a big appetite so I usually prefer to eat more food for my calories vs. eating less calorie dense items. Is this a bad way to be doing things? For instance, I can make a huge 3/4 cup egg white omelet for 90 calories or have a much smaller portion of chicken breast for 110 calories. I recently started eating pb2 and I really love it but it does add a significant amount of calories for my diet. For my snack today I'm grappling with choosing a banana (135) and 4 tbs of pb2 (90) or having two cups of lentil soup for 180? Is anyone else having a hard time figuring this out? I don't want to be missing out on nutrients by only choosing low calorie options...but I don't want to be hungry either! Any advice?

Variety is best. I try to eat less Calorie dense foods on rest days, and more Calorie dense foods on exercise days when I need the Calories.

That is a good way to make sure you don't overeat yet still not be hungry. This is what most people should be doing. It is only those that don't eat enough calories that should be choosing more calorie dense foods.

I have the same problem. Mine is more between fruit and 100 cal packs. I would love to see more options for healthy low cal high nutrients food that does not include pb or humis.

im all with ya!!! I found though that i was choosing the less cal. option, i was hungry more often, and that leads to overeating, so i have been trying to break things down by nutitional value.. I just make sure every meal or snack is high in protein, and has a veggie or fruit, as long as you are eating clean, at the end of the day your cals will be where you want them!....maybe take 1/2 the banana, pb2, protein powder and make a smoothie( i use vanilla whey and strawberries too!) that will keep you full with the protein and still be low in cals.

I used to be hungry all the time. Now I eat protein with every meal and eat 4 to 5 times a day, spreading out calories. I am never hungry between meals.
