edited September 29 in Introduce Yourself
Hello! My name is Erin and I've been using MFP for over a month now, and thought it was time to introduce myself. I'm 29, work in marketing for a non-profit, and live in south central Pennsylvania.

I've been trying to lose weight on and off since I was about 12. The most I've ever lost in one "attempt" is about 30 pounds. I need to lose about 200 pounds, which is incredibly daunting. I don't have a lot of people in my life who understand what it is like to struggle with their weight, so it would be great to make some new friends on here so we can support and encourage each other!

My main reasons for wanting to lose weight is to be healthier, and more comfortable and confident in all aspects of my life. I've watched many of my friends date, get married, and start a family, but I am too self-conscious and afraid of rejection to even think about dating. I've never been in a relationship that wasn't completely dysfunctional, mostly due to my own issues. I'm ready to change that...and my life as a whole!

  • Well, I can see where you're coming from but welcome aboard! :D Good luck with your goal, and just know that if your awake and you're breathing, you know you got this! And everything will happen in its own time, but again good luck! You can do this (:

I like the title of this post (Radiohead fan?)! :D You can do this! 200lbs may seem overwhelming now, but a few months into this and seeing how much you've lost and how far you come, 200 isn't bad at all. You'll get there in no time. Each day I'm here, it gets easier. Especially with all of the support here. You have a lot people in the same position as you (including me), cheering you on!
