Supportive Workout Shoe

Hi, any ideas of a good workout shoe for someone that has flat feet?
I want to workout more often but I find myself not doing so b/c I have not found a shoe that won't have my feet hurting after working out for a few moments. I would like to find a good cross training shoe that I can use for running, walking, for my zumba and kickboxing classes but haven't had much luck. In the past I have been able to wear New Balance but that is not working for me any longer and after working out for 15-30 mins, my feet are on fire right in the arch area. I have tried all kinds of foot pads and that has not helped either!
Any help/advice will be appreciated! Thanks

You may want to go to a store that is primarily running related...they can ask you what you do and really find out what's best.
I have to have a very supportive shoe (I have extremely high arches) and they put me in the Asics 2160...they are pricey, but they have worked wonders! I also have inserts that are off the shelf, but given to me by my podiatrist...I had heel pain when training for a 15k. All of this has helped me a lot...I am very partial to Asics. Even after I wore out my first pair (had them for 6 months and they still look brand new!) and had to get a new pair, I bought exactly the same shoe in a different color! No reason to play with success!
Good luck - the shoe really makes all the difference!0 -
asics helped me, you could maybe give these a try?0

I've heard alot of good things about Asics but have not tried them. I used to have a pair of mid-top Rykas that I loved to do kickboxing and step - however, I have no luck what-so-ever finding the hi-top/mid-top shoes anywhere. (except for NB). I also cannot do Zumba in a pair of shoes other than a dance shoe. I have carpet at home and I can move at all in something w/tread. I too, would like to find a good cross-trainer shoe.0

my mom and i have both had fantastic results with the reebok simplyfit shoes! i haven't been able to run for 15+ years due to knee and ankle pain, but i'm now happily run/walking again! they have awesome "cushy" support.0

Thanks everyone!
I have tried Asics and they don't work for me either. I think I will definitely look into the running store and maybe I even need to see a podiatrist for proper foot pads0
