I grew up in Southern California, so I am pretty good with an avocado, but I just find it a hassle...buying them when they're not ripe (if there are no ripe ones in the store) and waiting till they're ready...opening them up to find oops, not quite ripe yet...sometimes the pit is stuck and I'm jabbing at it with my knife....leftovers...having a little pouch perfectly portioned is nice! I prefer whole, unprocessed foods but sometimes we need convenience.
Re. Peanut butter, have you tried almond butter? it's a healthy fat. make sure you get one without added sugar. For my kids, who still love that peanut taste, I buy the Costco organic PB, which has no added sugar, and mix it half & half with almond butter. I like to think it's healthier. I think my almond butter is only 170 calories for 2 tbsp.
re. almonds - they are so tasty if you just roast them for a few minutes with whatever spices you choose! Pumpkin pie spice is great, or try adding cardamom, makes them taste like a chai latte!0 -
Joseph's Wraps - Low cals and great toasted in the oven
Kemps Frozen Yogurt - YUM
Buckwheat Pancakes - Very filling and a nice change to egg whites in the AM
Homemade Protein Bars - Ellie Kreiger's are the best!
Mini Chocolates in any form - Sweet treat, but not over doing the cals
Polar's Blackberry Seltzer - Nice change to plain water
Pumpkin Seeds - Great on salads0 -

Health Starts Here salad dressings from Whole Foods. They are oil-free and taste GOOD. I got the ginger-carrot dressing and fig-balsamic dressing. They are only like 30-40 calories for TWO tablespoons. There are other flavors I haven't tried yet too.0

Laughing Cow Light Cheese Wedges with reduced fat wheat thins LOVE LOVE LOVE
With you on this one! Just recently bought some of these to make some alfredo (with a measured portion of pasta of course) and they really ramp up the flavor and creaminess while keeping the calories under control....0 -
fage 0%.. most amazing yummy tasting yogurt ever. I have mine with a little honey, walnuts and fresh fruit. gosh, so good!!
Fage 0% is my new best friend. I was a sour cream addict, and I have replaced sour cream with Fage. I mix a big container of Fage with a package of Hidden Valley dip mix, and it is so good with carrots, green peppers, cukes, etc. I can't even tell the difference. I think when my folks come out to visit, I am going to try to fool my dad with it.0 -
Pop Chips! LOVE THEM!!!!
