I am full of questions today yall!!!
LADIES, okay as a woman who owns her body and ALLL its curves I am at a loss:frown: . I am losing weight rapidly and have had great success with my workout regimen, eating patterns and such. The problem is I have lost so much weight in the upper body and ive lost in my lower body too. BUT my dang hips and thighs...are so resistive (they are going away but not nearly as fast as my now almost cut upperbody) I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?????. I am a realist and know my God given ampleness will remain...even with the weight off, I just wanted to know if any ladies had something that worked for them as far as toning/shrinking inches/firming. Thank you so much yallll

Try Zumba! I was very lucky to take a Zumba class locally with an instructor who is very fitness oriented and really added to the intensity of the class! It's great exercise! It works everything below the waist!
Give it a try! Good Luck!0 -
Very interested in replies. I have the SAME issue. I have lost inches everywhere, but hips and thighs the least at 1.75 inches. :-(0

Are you weightlifting? To change your shape, you need to lift weights. You cannot spot reduce if that's what you are asking. Your body loses fat in the same context as you gain it. Where it goes on first, that's where it comes off last, but you lose all over some areas aren't as noticeable as others.0

Ah yes the lower body...being pear shaped can be a hassle lol. Honestly what will shed the inches and pounds off of those thighs and butt area is cardio...plenty of it. I usually jog, run, walk. It realllly helps to slim it down, just gotta be patient though :happy:0

You can't target weight loss to a specific area. Everyone has those spots that are the last place to lose weight and you just have to keep going until those are the only ones with stuff left to lose.
Toning and muscle building along the way will mean that when that fat is finally gone there will be great shape.
Also remember since everyone is built different you may just have more athletic thighs and not lose as much there as other people.0 -
I do squats and lunges. Even though my number on the scale is slow, my clothes are a lot looser from these exercises. I am also blessed with the hips and thighs.0

yes, I spend a lot of time standing in the mirror singing the thong song. The only things that have helped me are running, stepping, and lifting . . . no secret. I free weight squat 50 pounds in a pump class several days a week to get that *kitten* up an inch.0

ive lost 2 inches in my hips and i am also "blessed" in the hip area....most of my weight is in my belly and waist, but most of my weight loss has been in my legs/thighs/butt.....i work the elliptical every other day for at least 45-60 min. every time im on it. i am also running some on the treadmill....i know im losing there because my pants fit different and all my pants are baggy. (however, im in between sizes so i have to stay where im at size wise)......0

Yeah I would work on doing excerises that include total body workout. I am currently swimming lots because I have the same problem with my lower half. Unfortunately, I have lost a lot of weight before and I still had thunder thighs and junk in my trunk. Just may have to be "blessed" in those areas, gotta work what you have0

Lower body dilemas :frown: Same here...but it's gonna be the last to go...0

You will just have to keep pushing and realize that you will probably always be bigger on bottom than you want. Lifting weights will give you two benefits. You can do squats, etc to build nice muscle in your lower half and tighten it up and you can do upper body weights to add muscle there and maybe help balance out the disparity between your top and bottom.0

2 years ago I got down to a size 6/8 when I'd been a 12 most of my life. So yeah, my hips and thighs DID get smaller.... BUT they still had a good deal of fat on them and didn't look good naked. But they looked good in clothes and luckily I wear clothes....0

^^^This. Some areas are the last to go. You'll see bigger changes in those areas once you get closer to your goal weight. I'm just now losing inches in my thighs/hips/lower belly after 40 pounds came off.
Keep up the strength training. Those areas will look great once the fat (finally) leaves.0 -
My hips are also wider than my upper half. The smallest part of my waist is now 27 inches, and my hips are 40 inches. They arent as wide as they used to be since I stopped eating pasta and as much processed carbs. I eat brown soda bread etc, gluten free, but never white bread, pasta, etc.
On the other side, dont the majority of men prefer a bit of a curve on a girl?! My boyfriend only asked me this morning where was "my *kitten* " disappearing too lol. I of course took this as a compliment, although its very much definitely there.
PS Im loving squats and lunges right now.
