Mood Eating

This past week I've been going to bad foods for comfort. I'm staying within my calorie limits, but lets just say I'm not joking when I say chocolate is a food group.
I feel with everything going on I need comfort more than healthy food. So I'm not really expecting to loose weight this week.

As to what happened where I need comfort, my favorite aunt died and my best friend had a bilateral masectomy due to breast cancer.

You've had a crummy week. You need people to support you, so I'm glad you have MFP, but I hope you have other friends to help you through this, also!
I lost someone last year, and I had almost no appetite for a while. I'm glad to hear you're eating at least. Get through your grief and stress without adding more stress to yourself about food choices. (However, they say that wholesome food like apples, etc, actually help improve mood, so do what you can.) Hang in there!

Yes you do need to go with more healthier foods but.... if you're eating fat free ice cream or frozen yogurt... dark chocolate is actually good for you. Stuff with peanuts... again... good for you. Chocolate covered fruit... try and split it down the middle so you get your comfort with a little bit of healthy on the side :) Sorry to hear of your troubles... I do sympathize.. been there. Hope things get better for you next week. Keep your chin up.
