    When is your wedding?

I'm getting married in September. Have been on MFP since November of last year and have had great success. I definitely don't dread my dress fittings!

    Congrats on your engagement!

I don't have a complete success yet, but I got engaged in November, and was the largest pants size I've been EVER. That was a 10 (in US sizes). Then, in June, I went wedding dress shopping, after exercising consistently from November to, well, now, and joining MFP in February. The sample sizes zip right up, and just last week, I bought shorts that were a size 4. I'm going to order my dress next week, so I'll absolutely have to keep the weight off, but I'm excited to make the commitment. I've also gained the confidence to order an amazing, form-fitting dress, that's sexy without being provocative. I'm SO excited.

With enough motivation, you'll make it. Feel free to friend me if you'd like. Good luck!
  • Congrats to you both and good luck on your success! Looking back at my wedding pictures is what gives me the motivation to keep going. :) I have never been skinny but I want my old figure back! I am almost there (wedding weight) but my ultimate goal is to be at the weight that my husband and I met at.
  • Awww fab well done u also...got 9months to loose 2stone (28lbs) mmmm is it doable? Get married End of May! Im doing slimming world and have so far lost 11lbs but not followed it properly for 3weeks so weigh in tomorrow and bk on it for good :) with only one treat a week!!! xx

I am focusing on the "over-hang" now. I'm fine with my weight in numbers, especially for my height. I just want to tone up a bit. I'm currently doing the 30 Day Shred. Although I haven't measured again, I can see more definition in my arms and legs.

Once I complete the Shred, I will go back to solely running, and then a month before the wedding I will do the shred again.

Congrats on your engagement & upcoming wedding. Such an exciting time!

You can absolutely lose 28lbs in 9 months. I lost 20lbs in 4 - 4.5 months and have been maintaining (for the most part) ever since.
  • Whats the 30day shred?? Is it an american thing?? xx

Have you heard of the program THE BIGGEST LOSER? One of the hosts on the show is Jillian Michaels. The 30 Day Shred is one of her workout DVDs. I love it!

I got married August 2008 - went to get the dress in March 2008 (most brides gasp that I waited so long) They measured my for the dress and it translated to about a size 18/20... I was 238lbs. Heaviest I ever was in my life! I seriously counted my calories while also focusing on lower carb foods and intense cardio with mild weight lifting. I went to get the final fitting and they had to do some MAJOR reconstruction because I dropped down to the size 12/14. I got down to 200lb for my wedding :) Granted, I would have LOVED to be 150  but that's just not realistic with the time frame I had. Since I did it in a healthier manner, rather than a crash diet, I've only fluctuated around 10-15 lbs in the last 3 years.

congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding!!!! i just got married in april...i would also highly recommend the 30 day shred for toning before the wedding :) i had been on mfp for a few months before we got engaged and lost about 12 lbs...our engagement was only 5 months and in that time i was able to lose a few more lbs and tone up a lot (even over the holidays)...i look back at my wedding pictures and am very proud of how i looked on our big day :) keep a good attitude and you will knock your groom's socks off no matter what weight you are on your wedding day :)
  • I may have to look for this dvd then :) ive got 9months to loose 2stone (28lb) which i guess is doable :) I only have little upper arms so really need weight off my arms n toning and def back fat toning too as its a sprapless dress xx
  • Just ordered the 30day shred :) x
