Today is the day - I'm actually a little nervous - probably just because I haven't done anything like this before. I kept getting up last night because of swim training nightmares
My right leg is a little sore still, but it should be ok. My husband is still suggesting the 25 mile - I just don't see the pride in that - I feel I could do that without all this hubbub.
I'll check in later - Happy workouts to you all!

So, today I'm trying an a.m. spin class (9:30 a.m., which in my world is "the crack of dawn")
I'll probably also get some walking in later (might just explore town, as the weather is still nice. . .maybe some vintage shopping)
Does anybody know if iron supplements can make a difference immediately? The Dr. said I probably wouldn't get an immediate effect, but I feel so much better physically that it's shocking. Either that, or my stress weighed about 150 pounds. (possible)
I've started to keep a little food/exercise journal in order to observe how I feel after I eat/exercise. Had my first negative food experience yesterday. A staple of my old diet was frozen pizza, and lately I've been obsessed with them. So, last night, I ate one. I feel awful. So, my experiment was a success! I've been gazing longingly at them in the freezer case for years, and now I know that my own whole wheat/spelt pizza is more delicious and I have no food hangover afterward.
Oof, another novel.
today is:
spin class
pushups
water, vits, iron
Take care of yourselves!:flowerforyou:0 -
Mary, I can't wait to hear how your ride goes!
Viv, I think that your body could probably react to the iron right away, especially if you were considerably low. I am wanting to get a physical done because my body seems really messed up right now.
I ate horrible last night, but it tasted SO good! I can not figure out why I am so stinking hungry lately! I woke up super hungry again this morning. It's a good feeling to feel hungry, but not THAT hungry!
Alex woke us up last night. He seemed to be hurting, but we tried everything and he just cried and cried. Needless to say we are a little tired this morning.
I skipped out on my push ups yesterday but I am going to test this morning and then add on what I can. I need to put all the furniture back after cleaning carpets yesterday, and then clean the house, which looks pretty bad. I may try to get a work out in if I have the energy. I don't want to gain weight with this hunger thing I am suffering from!
Happy Saturday you all! BBL!

Well Mary is probably right into the race now but I just wanted to wish her good luck !
Vivia, tell me about the pizza you make. I still crave pizza, right now I crave just about everything and I don't know what to do about it. I just want to eat. Is your pizza easy to make and healthy?
Still have a sore throat but am going to attempt my cardio today as I have no fever. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Hey mechanicmom, I'm in the same boat, I'm hungry all the time.0 -
Okay, I did something different today. I did as many push ups as I could each set for 7 sets with about a minute between each set fro a break. My goal was 200 though by set 4 I was doubting I could reach it. Well, I made it to 218 before my back started to give way! Now if I can do 200 in a matter of 10 -15 minutes why can't I do more than 50 at a time?0

Here's a link to the recipe I use. I use all whole wheat flour (or half whole wheat and half spelt flour) and the results are still very good. I find the whole wheat to be way more filling. I usually put the crust together, and let it sit and rise while I go to the gym, then throw the thing together when I get home, but you can do it in 5 minutes, and it's good to control the toppings. I add onions, peppers and mushrooms as well as pepperoni or soy pepperoni (you can almost not tell the diff.)

(I also bumped it here in the recipes. )
Also, I start to crave more carbs when the days get shorter. I'm just trying to concentrate on the whole grains.0 -
I have a long ways to go on the house. But I got the back yard mowed and the kitchen clean! My mom called and said she is looking forward to seeing us, which means they are still planning on coming. They are notorious for changing their minds so I will be excited when they are actually on the road tomorrow! Gotta get back to house work!
Hope everyone's day is going okay! Barefoot, how are you feeling these days?

3 hours 16 minutes - 1600 calories - 3 hours 30 minutes total race time (stopped HRM while at rest stops). Ate an entire bag of dried fruit and nuts - probably about 800 calories - most of it on the way home from the ride.
Here's the kicker
it was easy. I could of done the 50 mile no problem - next year planning on the 100K (63 miles) if the weather is good - it was perfect today, only got a little hard when the sun started beating down - 50 mile if the weather is fairly nice - 25 miles if it going to be 95 degrees  The hardest part was getting up in the morning.
I've showered and now I'm going to get lunch. I'm a badass.
Karen - there's a 1/2 whole wheat pizza crust available in the freezer section of some stores. Some companies (I think Target is one of them) make 1/2 wheat pizzas as well.0 -
Way to go Mary! I'm proud of you! And to be able to say that it was easy too! Wow. You are an inspiration! :flowerforyou: :smooched:0
