Mixing Weight Watchers w/ MFP

I'm trying to do weight watchers in conjunction with MFP. The goals they set for me on here have me eating 3 more points for WW then if I was doing WW alone. At least I think. I'm not actually positive. Does anyone know how to figure out how much fat, cal, fiber = 1 WW point?

This is what a friend sent me to calculate WW points:
Points = Calories/50 + fat/12 - fiber/5 (you should count no more than 4 grams of fiber)
Hope that helps... good luck!!0 -
Thanks a ton!0

Honestly, you're better off picking one program and sticking to it. Mixing programs just makes it more complicated than it needs to be...0

I created a spreadsheet in excel that automatically figures out the POINTS when you add the fat, fiber, cals... I hate the new points system.
I put my "regular" foods in so that I always know just by looking quickly - the only thing that sucks is putting it in two different places, here and on that spreadsheet.
I'm doing great just doing MFP... I'm skipping WW because I don't need to know points for the rest of my life... just calories.0 -
Here's a page with info on the formula: http://www.healthyweightforum.org/eng/articles/points-plus/
(It doesn't match what the poster before me gave.)0 -
The new point system does not have a straight formula. I have been doing both also. I was having trouble losing weight with ww. It felt like there were days I was eating too much. So I decided to find a way to count my calories to see how much I was actually eating. I found mfp about a month and half ago.
There are some days I eat my calorie goal of mfp and am way under my points. There are other days I end up the other way. I am over points and under calories. It depends on what you are eating and how much fruit. Some of your healthier foods end up around 50 cals per point others are 30 cals per point. It really depends.
Lately I have been only tracking on mfp. I feel I get a better idea of what I am actually eating. and it seemed silly to be double tracking.
Good luck0 -
Well with either formula im finding I eat less fat, same amount of calories and more protein on MFP then with WW. I did lose the weight super fast on WW, but I was 17 when I did it. I'm sure it wont be the same now that im pushing 24 lol. Ill just stick to MFP and doing exercise and see what happens.0

I think im gonna try MFP w/ exercise for a while and see what happens. If I gain or dont lose then ill go back on WW.0
