Losing Weight, Gaining Self Respect

Hi, everyone, I'm new. I've been having a lot of issues getting motivated, but I recently hit the 60 lbs lost mark, before joining here, and am starting to really really really need additional help getting the rest of the weight off. It's taken me 1.5 years to lose this much weight, so that should illustrate how much I've been stop and go.

My motivation? I can't really define it. I think that maybe if I treat myself better, then the rest of the world will follow suit. I definitely have problems with self esteem, and it's taking me forever that "loving" myself with food is actually the slowest form of suicide. I'm ready to get started getting this right again.

Wow - 60 lbs already! It's a long haul, but you've done great, try to keep your eyes on the prize. Even if it takes another year, just keep plugging away, you'll feel great! And yes, as we get a better self-image, things start looking better all around us because we're just happier people. We can't change the world unfortunately, but we can change ourselves which means there'll be more positive energy in the world to help offset the negative.

You're welcome, and you know, I'm actually very envious of you! You've stuck to it for over a year, and I know how hard it is sometimes! I'm anxious to lose 60, it's a big number, and seeing someone like you who has already done it is very encouraging! Don't give up hope, and know that there are people out there who would love to be in your shoes : )

60 lbs is a great accomplishment!!! Great job so far. You can totally get the rest of the weight off. Don't get down on yourself, you have already come about half of the journey. Take it from me, I've just hit 100 lbs lost and I NEVER thought that would happen for me. With hard work and perseverance, you can do anything. Welcome to MFP :)

This all makes me super happy I joined. It's rough to go it alone - I have come to realize how much the support of others can help!
