Hello all, I joined a year ago, but have only really started using MFP for a week or so.

Got off active duty with the Navy 2 1/2 years ago, and am still in the Reserves. I've been off the Navy's height/weight chart for years, but could pass the bodyfat measurement (a formula based on your neck, waist and height measurements). However, passing the tape has been getting tougher and tougher, and after a close call this last month, I'm sick of tempting fate.

I had to be honest with myself, and simply "eating healthy" and working out more wasn't enough. I've been successful at getting my weight down before, and for me, losing the weight means counting and tracking the calories.

I used to use another, similar website, but I'm really liking MFP. The Android app is great, and the food database on here is very extensive and detailed. I've browsed the forums, and it seems like a very diverse and supportive group here.
