Wow, I am stuffed. I am trying to do a better job of eating my calories + my exercise today. I remember when I 1st started I had such a hard time feeling full on just 1200 calories.
Does anyone have any suggestions I making sure I eat my calories? I am just so afraid that I am going to go over that I end up not eating enough, but I am full.
My other issue is that most of the time I don't get to exercise until late at night. Then it's so late that hate to eat back my calories. I am not a morning person and working out in the AM is not in the plan for me.
Thanks for your input.

Just because you workout in the evening, doesn't mean you can't incorporate your exercise calories all day. If you are planning on working out, add extra calories to breakfast, lunch, dinner, and/or your snacks - 50 to 100 extra calories here or there isn't too difficult; it could be adding seeds/avocado/beans/etc. to a salad, drinking a glass of milk with dinner, adding a spoonful of peanut butter to your breakfast... planning ahead and spreading the calories out is the easiest way to tackle this issue.0

I struggle to get calories in every day. It's too hard to eat when you feel full all the time. I have no advice but, would love to see what others say. I'm currently on the Paleo Challenge eating only vegetables, fruit, lean meat and limited nuts.0

As long as you don't get crazy dreams or an upset stomach, it is okay to eat late at night. Or if you know often what you normally burn during your workout than just eat your calories before hand(Then you know you HAVE to burn this many).0

My workout is typically at night so I can understand what your going through. The best thing I can recommend is adding just a few more calories to each meal. Eat a 1/4 of a cup of nuts, some greek yogurt. a cup of berries as a late night snack. Remember going over 20 calories isn't going to kill you and there are ways to make sure you do it and stay right on. You can do it!0

How about logging the late night exercise to the following morning, so that you have all day to make up the calories.0

This is what I do, I know roughly how many cals a routine(s) will burn and I eat more to anticipate it. For example, every other day I jog and do my Turbo Fire routine so I eat more for breakfast, larger snacks, milk with dinner, etc.0 -
your meals look so good (you are soooo much better than me!) maybe just have a little more of some things - like go ahead and have 3 tbls of bacon and 3 tbls of sour cream on your baked potato.0

I have the same problem! I only ate 800 calories today and I'm stuffed! but I know I need to eat more because my head is pounding and I don't feel good (maybe thats why I cant eat a lot today?)0

This. Exactly. If you consistently net under your goal... you're a poor planner and/or are undereating by choice. Good for you for looking for suggestions. I hope the others that are netting extremely too low (700-800 calories) will realize how unhealthy that is for their bodies and use some of these suggestions too.0 -
Instead of eating light, lite, low fat, foods (which just replace fat with sugar and sodium) eat full fat version of foods. That'd be the easiest way to add in calories throughout the day without adding more food. Instead of fat free yogurt, try Greek Yogurt or just regular yogurt. Add some mayo or Miracle Whip to your sandwiches. Use regular salad dressing, especially one made with olive oil. Fat is not our enemy!
You can also add a handful of almonds as a snack. A great way to get some good calories in easily. You might also look at adding a protein shake, especially one made with casein instead of whey, after your workout and before bed.0 -

I've actually found that if I don't eat, I feel sick so I don't want to eat. It's a vicious cycle. When I let that happen to me, I'd take in some liquid calories like fruit juice, for a quick sugar boost, so I could break the cycle and eat. Happily, I'm past the stage where I don't eat so that I get to that point. I've gotten used to eating breakfast and small meals throughout the day which helps a lot.0 -
I have the same problem. I wrote a post about my problem in the "motivation" section. I think we are all trying to balance everything out. Some strategies work better than others.0
