Ok, it's almost 'bite the bullet' time...(low carbers)

I've been doing Dukan for the last month, and I'm nearly at goal. Loads of people have helped me on this journey so far, and I want to keep up the low-carb thing, though I'm assuming once I hit goal, I'll up this a little.

I'm keen to 'progress' to kinda the Paleo thing (though I've no intention of cutting dairy) but in line with this, and with Atkins and the general low-carb consensus, I'll be upping my fat intake (I really appreciate everyone's contribution to this so far, but figured if Dukan ain't broke, don't fix it).

Those guys that've helped me so far know I fear the fat :ohwell: but I plan to embrace it, at least a little. So with that in mind, could some of you lovely lads and lassies out there give me some inspiration? I'm likely to continue with the eggy breakfast, but in terms of the rest of the day, could you please make some suggestions? My diary's open, so any ideas'd be gratefully received, but I'm reluctant to consider going over my calories, that'd be my big consideration.

I know nuts are (can be?) good, and I've been advised fattier meat, but any other thoughts would be great.

Thanks so much in advance...

I've never heard of Dukan. How much does it cost to get started (I just read up about the diet) and how do I get the information? Congrats to you!

I used to be on a completely wheat-free diet (not the same as a coeliac, as some gluten-free products contain wheat). I loved Honeycake (which was made from Rye), cold avocado cubed with hot bacon pieces over it, it's got the fat element and is REALLY tasty, while also full of iron and other goodies in the avocado. I pretty much stir-fried everything. I found that without the carbs I was inclined to get cold quickly as I was burning all the fuel I was eating really quickly.

well I'm sort-of Paleo at the moment, (although probably more primal as I've been having yoghurt) and I am finding I need fats to make me feel full. It could be that I am not eating large enough portions of meat, but I am often hungry.

My carbs are nowhere near as low as yours (I'm aiming for around 100g) because I couldn't survive either psychologically or nutritionally without a ton of vegetables -i assume this is part of the Dukan process.

But doesn't Dukan have a maintenance stage? If you have had success with it so far, could you not look at following the plan there? personally I am adding a dash of high quality extra Virgin olive oil to food and that is helping with the fats, plus eating whatever meats I feel like. Just remember - eating fat does not make you fat.

    Hey,

Here are some ideas, hope it helps.
    Omelette (spinach, mushrooms & cheese)
Spring Mix Salad (drizzled w/olive oil, sprinkle of basil) & Grilled Chicken Breast
Cottage Cheese ( summerberry- it's amazing)
Marinated Pork Roast w/celery ...( low starchy vegs)

Keep up the good work .... If you need any ideas let me know.
