Easy Ice Milk Drink

It's summertime and I love some ice cream once in a while; especially the stuff straight from our home ice cream maker. But a batch of vanilla calls for egg whites (eh, not so bad), lots of heavy cream, half & half and moocho sugar. :) So I don't usually have much more than a taste of the "real" stuff.

But I found a yummy substitute (and very easy too!)

You need:
A blender
Ice
Milk (I'm sure whatever variation you choose would be fine!)
Vanilla extract
Anything you'd like for flavor (I've used fresh fruit like peaches, banana or berries and last night I used plain malt flavoring.)

Put into blender:
Handful of ice
1 C. Milk -- I use 2%
1tsp vanilla
Your flavor of choice
Blend & pour into a favorite glass and enjoy.

Easy. Smooth. Creamy. Full of flavor (I think the vanilla is the key). Perfect for eating/sipping while sitting on the front porch after all the kiddos are tucked into bed on a warm summer evening while I enjoy reading a good book. (Okay, maybe that's just my idea of a good time)

    this is great! I just made it with 1/2 a banana and 3 strawberries. soo good!

    Thanks for sharing! I'll have to try it the next time my husband digs in to a carton of ice cream and I'm left to just watch!

    Sounds yummy...I drink something similar but it's called Horchata, rice milk!
    Soooo good and refreshing!
