Trying something new

So .... working out just to eat more really isn't working for me. IDK, I know that's how this website is set up, but mentally, my brain needs a different set up. I have a BMI of 36, and I know that for right now I can safely lose 2 lbs a week, so I need a 7,000 calorie weekly deficit.

Here's my plan: I'm going to eat my NEAT calories, minus 500. That's where 1 lb per week will come from. I'm not going to log my exercise anymore. Because I'm just not completely convinced that the calorie count is right, and also, I get excited that I have 400 calories left at the end of the night and I want to eat them all. When really, I don't have to, and I probably shouldn't.

Part two of the plan: I'm going to continue working out as I have been, trying to burn around 600-700 calories a day, 5 times a week. I do this with a combination of strength training, cardio, and interval training. This is where the other 1 lb per week will come from.

My thought is that if I stick with the calories in at a constant deficit of 500 per day, then I can 'earn' extra pounds lost with my exercise. I'm going to try it for one month, and see where it gets me. Wish me luck!
