i have been religiously logging into mfp everyday for every meal! but i know i cant do it for every day of my life... so im terrified of what will happen when that day comes to when ill just have to stop and try it myself.

has anyone ever done it without MFP and successfully kept their weight, or even lost any? i need to know its possible. it feels almost like a drug.

I think once you learn how to eat right, you could continue on without MFP. Some people need the constant reminder not to eat more and that's okay too.

I don't think I'll ever give up MFP :P Just sayin, nobody said that day HAD to come. ;)
You sure can successfully still lose weight without MFP - I just don't see why anybody would WANT to give up this great community for all the motivation and support it offers :):flowerforyou:

Yep. I have stopped logging on and off for the last couple months. Did just fine.

I'm getting more and more confident each day that I can do this without logging all my food, but I like to log it.

I do admit that I like being able to see what I eat - in black and white.
  • I feel like the people doing it without MFP won't read your post.....otherwise, we're all still here. Enjoy yourself:)

I recently took some scattered time off from MFP I was terrified to weigh today because of it. However I am happy to report that although I did not loose anything I did maintain my weight loss! YAY! I did find that I am still very cognizant of my food choices and limit my portion control without MFP although not as well. The emotional support on the site is what really keeps me going! I am back now and ready to kick it into high gear!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

I took 3 days off from MFP to go on vacation. I was sooo scared that I'd gain weight because I'd eaten (cautiously) at buffets and had some ice cream. Luckily, with exercise on vacation, nothing happened! No weight gain, only loss (a little!) Without MFP, you're still cautious about what you eat and how you exercise, believe me, it can be done! I couldn't wait to get back on it, but it proves I can survive without it.

Oh, and I log from my iPod and Droid. I'm addicted... lol.

Our inernet service was out for 3 days... felt like an addict looking for a dealer! lol

I wrote everything down and filled it in when we got back up and running. Guess it's a better addiction than chocolate cake and cheese pizza!

Ouch! Yeah I did that when I had no internet for a day (was at family reunion and came back home after midnight!)
So I brought a paper and pen and logged everything I ate hahahaa... even named it "Breakfast" "Morning Snack" "Lunch" .. etc. according to how my MFP food diary looks ^^; hehe!
And oh yeah totally much better. My mom is 'concerned' about me being obsessed with this...but if it is an obsession, I'd rather be obsessed with health than drugs or crapfood!!

I took a forced absence from MFP when I was out of country (no internet) for 8 days on vacation. Guess what? I came back the exact same weight. After you've been at it for a while you can trust your instincts more than you think. I still log daily but I no longer fear having to go without MFP for any length of time.

Go without MFP? OMG! I just realized I am going on vacation in 2 weeks to the Mtns. They probably don't have WiFi. OH my!
Guess I will have to borrow my teenagers phones. There is an App on Iphone, right?
Seriously, I have just gotten into MFP this week and I have already learned a lot. I know it is going to be a great help for me.
