How to work out the sodium content of a food using the salt

Hi everyone,
I have noticed many wrong values in the database, especially when it comes to sodium. I have seen the number of grams put into the box rather than the milligrams and I have also seen the salt value being entered rather than the sodium.
I know some products don't provide a sodium value, so I'm hoping the following will help:
"An easy way to calculate the amount of sodium in salt is to realize 39.3% of the amount of salt comes from sodium. Just multiply 0.393 times the mass of the salt and you will have the mass of sodium." (http://chemistry.about.com/od/moleculescompounds/a/Sodium-Versus-Salt.htm)
Have a great day!
