i am trying to put together a new playlist based on bpm. i have 23 songs total ranging from 126 to 177 bpm. it is for 10 miles at an average 9 minute mile pace.

i was thinking of arranging them in a bell curve fashion, starting with a few songs at 150 bpm, and spending the majority of the run (7 songs) at 160 bpm, then moving up to a few songs at 166 bpm, two songs at 177 bpm and then slowing back down with a song each at 170, 164, 156, 150, 138, 131 and 126.

does that sound reasonable or should i move the 177 songs up closer to the beginning of the run when i am fresher? should i spread them out so it is more like intervals?

how do you arrange your playlist?

Wow, that is impressive! I woul d not think to arrange songs that way - but that is a really cool idea! Sounds like it would work to me! Maybe make several playlists for when you want to do different kinds of runs (tempo, intervals, etc. as you are talking about)

When I make a playlist... I just put a bunch of songs I like in there and play it on random. Haha.
