I never get enough fiber in my diet. What foods are high in fiber?

Also, is it fiber that keeps you feeling fuller longer or is that protein? I always thought it was protein....

    most fruits and veggies are high in fiber, oatmeal, Kashi Cereals...those are some of my favs!

    Avocados, oatmeal, beans, flax seeds, quinoa, apples, mangos, spinach, pumpkin, brocolli, brussel sprouts, berries...

    I noticed that there is a decent selection of high fiber wraps and breads at my local grocery store, if you wanted to check that out as well. :flowerforyou:

    I like a slice of Double Fiber Bread when I have the Munchies. Orowheat makes one (70 calories/slice) but there are other bakeries who make them too. If I have a sweet tooth - I put a bit of fresh local honey in it too. Local honey helps with pollen allergies!

    Another filling snack is light cheese. I like the Babybel light cheeses. 50 calories/wheel. Add in a piece of fruit (apples are great for an energy boost).

    I find snacks with crunch make me feel more satisfied. Eating all soft foods doesn't make me feel satisfied.

    Both help you feel full for longer time, I try to have both in all of my meals... Fiber is in wholegrain bread and vegetables for me!

    I usually eat all bran 40% original. Then I never have a problem :))))

    Fat and/or protein will leave you feeling fuller, so foods like nuts (go easy), avocado, turkey breast, sweet potato ... Most vegetables have a good deal of fiber and you can never go wrong eating lots of them :-)

    One fruit that surprised me with the amount of fiber is grapefruit! There's 6 grams in half a medium grapefruit! I like them, so I start a lot of my days with one sprinkled with a little stevia.

    I also am a bit addicted to fiber one bars - the 90 calorie version. I have one most days for a snack.
