How much postassium is in a yam? I find my runs go so much better when I eat yams. I saw potatoes are high in postassium, but I can't find the breakdown on yams in the database. Anyone know?

Thanks! But it appears that what I've heard before is true. What I eat are really orange sweet potatoes. In the market I purchase them, they are called red garnet yams. But it appears, that yes, they are very high in postassium as well as other vitamins and minerals. That must be why they give me so much energy. Yet they are central on the glycemic index. They pretty much seem like a perfect food, but is that only a "real" yam or a sweet potato that we call yams?0

o.k. It looks as if sweet potatoes have 1/3 the postassium of a true yam, but white potatoes are high in potassium.
