I was using MFP and counting my swimming as liesurely swimming and the water P.T. I do with a therapist as water aerobics or treading water but I was told that MFP isn't accurate and gives too many calorie points. Without purchasing one of the HRMs what is the best way to count my swimming calories burned??

I don't know if they over-estimate. I was counting the calories in my 30 DS as 18 minutes of calisthenics and it was 144 calories burned (141 if I counted it as circuit training). I got a hrm for my birthday last night and used it and I actually burned 366 calories. You could try monitoring your hr yourself (you can figure out your calories that way, I don't know the formula but you can probably google it) I don't know how accurate it would be since your hr would constantly be changing but it's worth a shot.0
