Does anyone do zumba? How do you track it? How would you gauge how many calories you lost?

I use my HRM, but you can also log it as aerobics. (I burn approx. 500 calories per hour of zumba - sometimes less, sometimes more).0

I do zumba at my YMCA and on the Wii, I initial tracked it as low impact or general dance , then I started using my calorie tracker from my log in at the YMCA (Fittlinx)0

I did my first class wednesday and I also used my HRM. My calories burn was also about 500 calories per hour. I created a new cardio exercise to track it.0 -

How is that calculator accurate? It doesn't know if you're a man, woman, how tall you are or your weight? I'd highly recommend finding a calculator which, at a minimum, takes into consideration your height, weight and sex!0 -
I like this site that you can enter your time, weight, and intensity.

I have the DVD set and I love it! The best and most accurate way to track calories burned is to use a heart rate monitor. I have a Polar FT7 and I love it! Tells me how many calories burned, how long in fat burn zone and fitness zone, stores data, etc... best investment!
Hope this helps!0 -

You're absolutely correct...the HRM I have you enter your weight, height, gender, and birth date. This is the best way to accurately know how many calories you've burned. Everyone burns differently. There are people who can do the exact exercise I do at the same intensity and burn 1000 calories where I only burn 400 calories. HRMs are very important :bigsmile:0
