Oh no...not my brownies!!

I will admit it, homemade brownies are my weakness. Not the kind with applesauce or black beans, but the regular full fat laden cocoa version! I have tried the replacements, and to each I go ICK! Well, I just entered the recipe into my recipies and YIKES!!! The calorie count is almost 300 per serving, and that's WITHOUT frosting or adding chocolate or peanutbutter chips! So, I guess I know on a day I decide to splurge for a brownie, just how much I will have to adjust my eating and/or exercise for the rest of the day!
Anyone else have a favorite splurge food that they fit into their calorie goals? I am thinking one splurge day a week, if I can keep on track the rest of the days.

Problem is I would eat several servings. mmmmmmmmmm Brownies!! I haven't had them in forever!!0

:blushing: The only reason I ever make brownies is to eat the mix. I fill the pan, without scraping the bowl then get a glass of milk and spoon. LOL0

I have the problem of eating too many as well lol! I survive not eating the batter in the bowl because my 3 kids race to see who can ask for it first, lol!

I had HG's brownies before the revamped recipe when they were just pumpkin and cake mix. I am sure the added ingredients is to make it where the 'dough' is actually managable. They were very good and gooey cake-ish.. but like I said the dough was hard to manage, very thick and lumpy. Also the orange from the pumpkin will get on anything it touches, eventhough it looks like chocolate, it'll leave a nice orange spot! FYI!
My splurge food is ice cream. love love love it and will save a few calories for it a couple nights a week.0 -

Boston Cream Cupcakes
PER SERVING (1 cupcake): 114 calories, 2.5g fat, 193mg sodium, 21.5g carbs, 0g fiber, 12g sugars, 2g protein -- PointsPlus® value 3*
Ingredients:
Half of an 18.25-oz. box (about 1 3/4 cups) moist-style yellow cake mix
1/2 cup fat-free liquid egg substitute (like Egg Beaters Original)
3 tbsp. chocolate frosting, room temperature
2 tbsp. light chocolate syrup
One 60-calorie sugar-free or no-sugar-added vanilla pudding snack (like the kind by Jell-O)
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1 no-calorie sweetener packet (like Splenda or Truvia)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 12-cup muffin pan with baking cups and/or spray with nonstick spray; set aside.
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, egg substitute, and 1/2 cup water. Whisk thoroughly. Evenly distribute mixture among the cups of the muffin pan.
Bake in the oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean, 20 - 22 minutes.
Allow cupcakes to completely cool. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine chocolate frosting with chocolate syrup and mix well. Cover and refrigerate.
Once cupcakes have cooled, use a knife or narrow spoon handle to create a small centered hole through the top of each cupcake, stopping about midway through the cupcakes. Set aside.
Open pudding cup and stir in vanilla extract and sweetener. Place pudding in one of the bottom corners of a sealable plastic bag. Remove air and seal. Snip off a small part of that corner with scissors.
Gently squeeze the bag and evenly pipe pudding through the hole in the bag's corner and into the holes in the cupcakes.
Evenly spread frosting-syrup mixture over the cupcakes. (Don't worry if some of the pudding filling gets mixed in!)
Serve and enjoy! (Refrigerate leftovers, if you've got 'em.)

Coconut Cream Fluffcakes
PER SERVING (1 cupcake): 105 calories, 1.5g fat, 158mg sodium, 20g carbs, <0.5g fiber, 14g sugars, 1.5g protein -- PointsPlus® value 3*
Ingredients:
3/4 cup Cool Whip Free, thawed
1/4 cup Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Creme, room temperature
1 drop coconut extract
1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut, divided
Half of a 16-oz. box (about 1 1/2 cups) angel food cake mix
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 12-cup muffin pan with baking cups. (You MUST use baking cups for this recipe.) Do not spray with nonstick spray. Set aside.
In a small bowl, combine Cool Whip, marshmallow creme, and coconut extract. Mix thoroughly, cover, and refrigerate.
Roughly chop 1/4 cup shredded coconut and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine cake mix with 5 oz. (1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp.) water. Using an electric mixer, beat at low speed for 30 seconds. Increase speed to medium, and beat for 1 minute. Add the roughly chopped coconut, and beat for another 30 seconds.
Allow cake mixture to rest for 2 minutes. Then evenly distribute it among the baking cups. Bake in the oven until tops are golden brown, about 15 minutes.
Set aside to slightly cool.
Evenly spread frosting mixture among cupcakes and sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup shredded coconut.
Eat up! (Refrigerate leftovers.)

6 maraschino cherries, halved
Directions:

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, baking powder, and 1 cup water. Mix thoroughly. Add banana and stir well. Gently fold in 3 tbsp. chocolate chips.

My splurge is usually icecream. I do workout more on nights when I am going to eat the icecream. I just try to exercise some each day to give me some cheat padding!0 -
well, my sweet tooth is huge! I think all my teeth are sweet teeth:) I put my fav recipes in MFP and then I know exactly what I am in for like you said. If I am gonna treat myself, I work out harder and burn the extra calories before I eat the treat... I learned this early on... If possible, burn before eating the treat.
Right now, I am trying to push to the next level and cut out all bad stuff for a little bit... my treats I am letting myself have though are frozen yogurt without the bad toppings (which I will let myself have now and then) or chocolate cool whip frozen... 2 TBSP for 25 calories and next to no carbs... or chocolate animal cookies. 130 calories for 1oz... about 16 cookies I think.
I have found that if I am aware of what it is gonna cost me, by the time I have worked out and drank my water, the cravings aren't as harsh... this is more so for alchohol... where I used to crave going to have a drink due to stress,,, I don't anymore... Now, I just crave an ice cold brewskie for the hell of it... after a good workout, I don't feel the need to drink away anything....
But yes, I allow for my favorite sweet here and there.... gotta have it!:) would go crazy without a lil somethin somethin here and there:)0
