20 lbs difference

So I was going through some pics of last year and I came across this one...My family went to Hawaii for a week. This was probably the most I have ever weighed. At the time I did not think I looked that bad but I was always unhappy and I was always trying to cover up my love handles, and I guarantee that I was sucking it in in this picture! I do not have a current bikini picture(still have not had a chance to go to the beach! :( But I can see a difference in my overall body which is such an encouragement! My arms, face, and tummy are all flatter and smaller and I am so happy! Even though I am not buying smaller clothes I am not spilling out of any of them! 20lbs makes a difference even on a taller person (5' 9") even when everyone tells you that you look "fine" I am so happy that I have made a life change and am sticking with it! Hope this can be an encouragement to someone out there!

When people tell me that I look "fine" I tell them that no one ever achieved greatness by stopping at "fine" I want to be GREAT! I want to look GREAT! lol

    I hate the word "fine"

Btw... I am glad you are SEEING the difference. sometimes that is the hardest part.

Well I think you looked lovely before but you have to do what you want to and what makes you happy!

How much more are you planning to lose overall?

I think that I was at 165-170 there. I am now at 150 and I want to lose anywhere from 5-10lbs...my husband still likes a few curves! Also, 150 was my highest high school weight! 145 was my lowest so I am trying to get to 145 and see how I feel and look!

You are doing a great job! Ultimately, as long as it is healthy, you have to do what makes you happy.

Now that I've lost weight, I've had to deal with people being jealous & saying things that come across negative. I have to inform/remind them that I once weighed 185-190 lbs, was unhealthy & unhappy. I am now 145-150 & comfortable. However, I have set a new physical goal of being more toned, lean, fit, & stronger. My worst nemesis is self-sabotage!

Keep doing what you are doing. Improve what you can & you will reach your goal in no time!

I know exactly what you mean! I'm 5'9 and also lost around 20 pounds.. and while, I'm not buying smaller clothes either, I do need to have the waist tailored in my pants now in order to make them fit. I also have no more muffin top or anything like that.

When I first gained the weight, everyone told me oh you look fine.. It's not that bad and you're tall. Yes that may be the case, but I still felt fat and knew that I needed to drop some weight.. and now that I have, all my friends from college give me crap and dirty looks about it... Sad but true. I knew what I needed to do, so I did it.. and i'm not going to stop doing it just to make someone else feel better about themselves.

Thanks for all the encouragement! I am actually going to go camping this weekend and will be in a bikini most of the weekend and for the first time in a long time I CANT WAIT! I am so excited and I love that I am finally comfortable in my own skin! Making this change in my life has been awesome, I used to be a binge eater. I wouldnt really eat anything all day and then I would eat a TON of crap I feel better even on the days that I don't workout! It is awesome how great I feel. I am so glad to have found this site with such encouraging people.

    Thanks for all the support!
