I had all 5 of my wisdom teeth removed at one... yes I said 5... I was a freak of nature and had had an extra tooth way up in the back...

I survived off of Gogurt and diet 7up for a week, oh and chicken broth. probably not the best thing...but it worked for me.

    Good luck!

Right about the time my hubby and I first started dating, he had to have all four of his wisdom teeth pulled out in one visit (before shipping out - Navy). I feel bad about it now, but I made him go with me to see Titanic that very night. :noway: :embarassed: I really didn't think it was that big of a deal. We joke about it now, but I should've been more empathetic.

A year later, I had two of mine pulled in one visit. Still didn't think it was that big of a deal. I even went to work right after. I couldn't answer the phones, but I did work. I was tender. It wasn't so much painful...just very uncomfortable for a couple of days. I don't remember it stopping me from eating whatever I wanted to the next day. But then again, stuff like that doesn't bother me much. :indifferent: :ohwell:

    Doritos.
I mean sure you will have dry sockets like me, but what was a little (LOT OF) pain in exchange for those cheesy bites of tortilla goodness?
(This was back in my 'fat girl' days.)

Avoid smoking and drinking through straws. "Sucking" can and will give you dry sockets. Painful!

    Jello.
    Pudding.
    Yogurt.
    Soup, soup, soup.
Oatmeal, grits (if you can swallow that with little to no chewing)
What's the drink.... Endure. No. Dunno, but the adult nutrition shake. Oooh, ENSURE! That is it, I think.
Slim Fast drinks. Count those cals, probably need a few of them each meal time.

    My minds gone blank.
    Good luck with your surgery!

Gee, I knew there was a reason I was "clewliss", I had all 4 pulled last fall! Lost all Wisdom:laugh: Was scared to death to drink from a straw b/c of fear of having a "dry socket"- all went well, though! I'll be thinking of ya!

Ice cream, Jello, Yogurt. Soup, pudding, oatmeal, and lots of milkshakes.
Oh. :noway: but half of that is not on our diet.
    What to do.

    Just take it easy.

I thought I could handle getting my pain pills from the pharmacy right after and the minute I stepped out of the car my hubby said that I was nowhere to be found. I fell on the ground from being drugged up. I will never live that one down.

Make sure you use the little spray thingy to flush the food out of the holes.

    Take care.

Some dentists will give you the scripts before the surgery so you can have them filled prior, and waiting at home for your arrival post-op! Check with your doc.

i just got back from the consultation with the surgeon, and the surgery is scheduled for next tuesday morning. he said they call in the perscription just as they finish up the surgery so we can go straight from his office to the pharmacy. they were also emphatic on getting enough protein, etc.. so i'm working on putting together a food plan for next week. i'm thankful i have a few days to figure it out!

thanks again to all of you - i'm sure i'll be on here moaning and groaning next week
