It's been a long journey, but now I am only a mere FOUR lbs away from my goal! YAY! My problem is.. I feel like I just want to quit at "good enough." Anyone have any advice on how to motivate yourself when you're so close to your goal, especially since it's the hardest to lose!?

oh yeah i am kind of doing that too and i am 10 lbs away. I am slowing down and not worried too much about what i eat, i think it might be because i know the calories of what i am eating and that i can burn it off if i need to, but i am exercising less too. :S

Also the scale is bull, it is a lie to me, it doesnt move yet i look different and my clothes are looser, I am looking at my body in the mirror and at the measuring tape to see my progress.
Do you have other goals for yourself beside the scale? Fitness goals? This will help keep you going.

Think of it as a lifestyle change, that way there is nothing to quite from, it is just the way you live.

girlfriend, look at my signiture!! I am right there with ya!! I was down to 2 lbs, then was up some this week b/c of one bad evening.....just stick to it. Make sure you are eating foods you enjoy and you can stick with you....protein, fiber......don't get too hungry. It is hard!! Everyone is saying I look good and they can tell I have lost! But I want to get to that magic number!! 4 more lbs!! WE can do it!

I agree with Chantal and Eric - make it about a total change and think of other goals besides the number on the scale.

Just to give you an example... For me, fitness goals have been as motivating as anything else. I did the whole 55 minute workout of Jillian's No More Trouble Zones yesterday and although it totally kicked my butt and I did have to skip a couple moves due to a bum knee, I did it! Today my whole body is sore but it feels good because I know I worked hard and am working to change my body.

It is a lifestyle change! If it weren't then when you reach your goal you will go back to the bad habits that made you fat to begin with. When I reach my goal I will continue to log my food and exercise every day because I will never be fat again. If I stop logging I'm sure the pounds will slowly creep back up.

A goal is just an arbitrary number, right? If you feel good where you are, then it seems to me THAT's the proper goal. If you still think you eventually want to lose those 4 pounds, there's nothing that says you have to lose those 4 pounds this week, next week or even next month. Change your goals to lose a half pound per week and it'll happen when it happens.
