I've only been going to the gym religiously for a little over 2 weeks. I've been doing 30+ mins of cardio on the elliptical 4-6 days a week, and am on w2d3 of the c25k, and do whatever else strikes my fancy at the time. I always look for machines with built in HRMs (I know they're not 100% accurate, but hey, they're better than nothing.) I noticed today I actually have WORK HARDER to get my heart rate above 106 (the lowest "weight loss" rate for my age and weight)...just moving doesn't get it up there anymore!! Apparently I'm doing something right! =)

how did you figure out your weight loss heart rate? when i tried to figure mine out it came out to be like 88... and that can not be right!

the machines I use have heart rate goals for me...something like 106-133 is target weight loss, and 134-162 is cardiovascular. I'm 28 and weigh 217.
