I'm assuming they gym did the bf% test w/calipers? The only "true" way i've heard of is a displacement test..however..we don't have a facility w/that equipment in town. Most people grossly underestimate their bf%...22% is just fine IMO (and according to the charts) especially if you're consistently working out/working on reducing bf% slowly. Fitness is a marathon, not a sprint! :)

Love this! Fitness is an ongoing goal. When I first had mine tested I was disappointed also, but then I realized that I needed to get my head out of my *kitten* and appreciate the accomplishment I had made, and continue onward toward my goal. I'm striving to lower my BF% to 17% ; it's a slow process if done correctly. Just a note about the online calculators, they are almost always wrong especially if you are on the more fit side of the spectrum. Many people preform the caliper test incorrectly ; you should use the results as a marker and congratulate yourself on your success!

Have had it done by a BodPod and an Omron hand held within 2 minutes of each other. Exact same reading to the .10.

Mine is 6.8% :-) first time I measured was when I was 14 and it was 10% then I measured when I was 16 and I was 22% and now I'm beyond like no fat lol

Sweet, there's a BodPod near me. I have been looking for an accurate testing facility! Thanks to those who mentioned air displacement method.

If you're going to have children, don't go much lower than that.

Missed this one. Been there, done that. 2 times.
