Minimum net Calories to eat by height and/or age?

I am familiar with the common guidelines regarding the minimum number of Calories to remain healthy, usually given as 1200 for women and 1800 for men. The problem that I see with this is that it does not account for height at all! I think it is only logical for a guy who's 5'6" to consume far fewer Calories than a guy who's 6'6" and weighs 100lbs. more. Age is another important factor because Caloric needs decline as we age. More accurate guidelines could help people immensely. Does anyone know of any such resource, giving minimum net Calories based on height and age?

Also, the opposite, if there is a reason my ideas about height and age are incorrect, how?

And if we get past the first two... Does MFP factor this into their calculations already?

Try http://dietitian.com/calcbody.php. It takes into account a lot more things when figuring out your caloric need. If you have a lot to lose, you can get by with a bigger calorie deficit and increase later as you get closer to your goal which is what I did.

Bookmarked. That is definitely a cool calculator, but I don't think it's really what I'm looking for. For example, does a woman who is 4'10" and 60 years old really need 1200 Calories, like that calculator says?
