Hi Folks,
My name is John, I am 54 and I live in Naperville, IL. Like many of us here, I am getting serious about my weight again. I am a former athlete (college scholarship basketball player) and I let the thing happen that I swore would never happen. I put on 180 lbs.Of course, I am feeling it in my joints and back and keep getting borderline health warnings from my doctor. I got down to 307 lbs about 7 years ago and rewarded myself by eating the stuff that got me in trouble in the first place. What a waste of time that was.
Well, I am serious this time. I am hopeful that tools like this site and folks like you can help me stick to it and change my attitude about food and exercise. I am going for a lifestyle change. I really want to feel better and become fit again.
John

Good for you for recognizing your health. I hope you feel better soon as you proceed on your journey. First of all don't worry about he weigh scale (everyone does), Measure yourself, neck, chest, waist, hips, arms and legs. As you exercise and do a bit of strengh training by lifting weights you'll see a shift. Sure you can weigh yourself but maybe not for a few weeks. Also concentrate on eating your way to ahealthier lifestyle. Make sure you have a good breakfast and monitor your salt, proteins and carbs. As you slowly change you'll benefit more.
You can add me as a friend if you want
