Someone cooked my sockeye salmon before I could measure its pre-cooking weight! It's got sauce on it though, so that might make up for its lost water weight... Any tips on how I can estimate its calories/ protein as closely as possible? I know how much sauce is on it, so the sauce isn't a problem. Just the salmon.

Was it vacuum packed? If so I have found they are all 6 oz. Or just weight it now and be done. I really won't make that much difference.

How about .75" thick by 1.5" by 1.5" is an oz. You okay with that?

Was it pre-packaged? If so, most of them are 4-5oz. (The fillets I buy from Wal Mart are 4oz).

I would go with 6oz to be on the same side. Better to over than under estimate, right?

Weight should be post cooking anyway. The size of a deck of cards is usually 3-4 oz

Thanks for the help. It was pre-packaged but this brand varies from package to package. I have a few more packages so I'll just eyeball the ones that look close...
