I had that problem yesterday... I actually threw up at the gym! But I was a trooper and went back to finishing my workout! I came home and slept and now I'm fine. I think sometimes we may just push ourselves too hard and our bodies just aren't used to it? Well it's either that or I'm prego... let's hope for the first one!

what/when do you eat before a workout? If you want to have something, have a banana, or small fruit, but not less than 30 minutes before, and no major meals within an hour before. Also, don't wait too long after a major meal, if you go 3-4 hours without eating then try to exercise, you'll possibly feel queasy after working out. It's a difficult balance...

Also, make sure you are hydrating adequately.
  • Sounds like one of two things:

    1. You're not taking in enough calories; or
    2. You are moderately dehydrated.

It is important to eat a little something (not a meal) about 10 to 15 minutes prior to your workout and you should be drinking water before during and after your workout. If you don't do these two things you could most definitely feel sick and tired particularly if you are heavily constricting your caloric intake.

it sounds like you might be pushing things a bit too hard..when i train to do long distance triathlons or half marathons i do long runs ( 12-18 km ) and afterwards i am totally pooped and had to take a nap....the worst is when you "bonk" during the event due to pushing too hard and not eating enough

i agree with all the comments about the food in but you might want to consider taking an extra day off to rest and recover
