I put this in a blog but for those who need some inspiration and motivation here is something I hope helps.

Well, here it is July and I haven't stuck with a single goal I set for myself in January. So here's the thing. I'm setting my goals for the remainder of the Year and I am going to stick by them if it kills me! So here we go.

July:
knock out soda except for once a month. I figure if I stick with diet for now i will eventually be out of drinking it. And I can find heathier alternatives if I'm tired of water. Also, if I don't buy it then I won't drink it. Trick is resturants and fast food. .. I'm always swayed for the soda rather than iced tea or water.

And my goal weight 277lbs

August:
I want to cut my snacking out. No more dip and no more chips. I am addicted to the salt taste of the chips. Again if I don't buy them then it's not an issue. It's when I'm at friends houses or when they come over and we have parties it's snack of choice.

heathy chances I guess could be veggie chips as they are good and filling, perhaps pop corn self serve or even rice cakes.

Goal weight 267 lbs.

September:

Cut out fast food. I'm a sucker for Wendy's and McDonalds if I don't have to cook I won't. I feel this is where most of my weight is coming from. I figure if I cut this out I'll do myself two favors.

1.Save much needed money for my wedding
2. cut back on some much needed fat.

Goal weight 257lbs

October:

I hope with the previous months to be exercising more and more. However, by this point I hope all notes around the house can come down and I can just do it out of habit. I hope I can work out for 1 hour without wanting to pass out, I want to beable to walk with out being winded and I hope by this point in time I have myself on the correct paths with the holiday season coming up that my plate doesn't have to be full and I don't need all the extra sweets and goodies everyone else is eating. I guess my goal this month is for will power.

Goal weight 247lbs

November:

This is a big month for me. I will be turning 28 and as we know it's harder to loose weight the older you get. By this point in time I hope to be part of a gym. It will keep me accountable for the money each year i"ll be spending. Plus if I work near Pittsburgh there is a brand new LA Fitness.

Goal weight 237lbs.

December:

This is the hardest month to be motivated for anything. However, I hope to have cut out all junk food, all soda, all laziness and bring in solid nutrition. My big goal here though is to get my fiance Mike on board if he isn't all ready. For the sheer fact is he's almost 400lbs and I need to do something to help him. This is a personal goal but also a goal for sharing what I've learned and my progress. By this month I hope to be at my goal weight and only 50 lbs away from my goal weight and college weight. So i'll need the added support at home to maintain the weight and loose extra. Also, I hope to get a bike for christmas so the following spring I can bike miles on end.

Goal weight 227lbs.

2011 is about change. No matter when you started or how far behind you are on your year goal it's all about making your decisions count and moving fwd. I believe in myself and I believe in all those who are following me with this goal in mind. 10lbs a month shouldn't be too hard. But I want to be able to fit into my jeans I wore when I first moved in to my house 3 years ago. Here's for a positive change.

Good goals! You need rewards. You should pick something you would like to do/have for each month and reward yourself. Even if you do not achieve the weight goal but stick to the lifestyle change you should get your reward. You listed many very good changes to your life that will help control the weight and keep it off in the long term.

Also good, doing it in steps. Good luck to you!

You can attain all of these goals. You have to want to do it. I would stay far far away from diet soda, it will just make you crave foods you dont need and they leech calcium from your bones. Stay as far away from them as you can. You might as well just drink regular soda, because in all reality, you will find those calories you are missing in the diet soda in french fries and donuts, and you have goals to meet. Make you some iced tea with splenda and keep it available to you at all times. If you need something other that water, drink a glass of tea and count it in your calorie intake. You must stay accountable for everything you are putting in.
Something else I did, and you can try as well. Every other day, walk down to the stop sign or to the end of the block and back. Once you feel like you can walk farther, walk a little farther. Before you know it you will be walking 2 miles at a time like its nothing.
Keep up the good work. You can do it.

You cannot do any more than show Mike how it can be done. The decision to change your life and lose weight is very personal and can be triggered by many things. For me, I just decided I wanted to be able to do activities with my daughters. I did not want to just sit and watch them grow up. One day I was content with my weight and the next I struggled to put on a pair of NEW pants that fit a few weeks before. That was the turning moment!
