Hello,
After reading up and doing research on Vibration exercise I decided to purchase one.. Just curious does anyone know what the calorie burn is on a 10- 20 Minute sessions?

Umm, attempting to pull my mind out of the gutter. lol.
Do you have an HRM? I would use that to determine calorie expenditure.0 -
what is that..... do you have a link im really courious what that is0
-
If what you're talking about is what I'm thinking it is it will be next to no calories I'm afraid.0
-
Hahahaha I wouldnt even bother tracking it!! Getting fit and healthy is hard work!! Go lift some heavy weights, eat a clean diet, and do some huffy puffy exercise everyday!!! If a vibration machine makes you happy then fine but they are not a form of exercise and will not give you weightloss results!!!0

Yeah me too lol0 -
i didnt think they made those anymore, i havent seen one in 20 years, i dont see them doing anything, you will lose weight but i think most of it will be in your wallet0
-
When you say vibration machines are you talking about the platform you stand on while lifting or doing some calisthenics?0

The one I have is the crazy fit but there are more expencive models http://www.crazyfit.com.au/Scientific-Support.html
Like the power plate that are endorsed by Maddona, and a few other health gurus http://www.powerplate.com/0 -
yea brown thanks, cuz the only vibration machine I know of has nothing realy to do with exercise but i'm sure it burns lots of calories....LMAO :)0

A shake weight will vibrate you (blush) and is way cheaper.0
-
LOL well I am sure the more perverted users could find other uses for this I wouldnt suggest it on the Higher settings it would be more painful than enjoyable.0

Yeah me too lol
With you both!
lol0 -
You do other exercises while using the machine... So would I just add more calories burned to the exercise I am doing?0
-
The HRM is normal 98 , but the burning sensation in my legs, Arms, Chest, Back, Glut, have to mean some calories are bing burned right???0

Me too....
sorry, I have nothing more to add to this right now...0 -
Um, I am not an expert, so I think not.0

I'd say zero, I've been on one of those before (several time actually, my friend has one and I do it for fun sometimes) and really it doesn't give you a real "workout" at all.
It's great for increasing circulation though, get the blood flowing and I feel good after but nope no calories burned or no enough to count anyway.
Yes you will feel a burning sensation in whatever area you are working by holding the move but the machine really doesn't add anything worthwhile to the workout.0 -
So it would be for more after workout and cool down or warm up then do regular workout?0

If you dont know its cool what machine does your friend have? The Crazy fit or the Power Plate?0 -
I've heard REALLY REALLY obese people can lose weight by standing or sitting on it even but in order for most people to lose weight it's better to just go to the gym. By the time you do each body part with several moves and hold each one for 30 sec or a min it really takes like an hour for it to be worthwhile and even then just a cardio session or some basic strength training is better.
It can't hurt to just use it a bit in the am and pm if you already own the machine and maybe you will see some benefit but overall if you can get your money back I would. Those machines can cost a lot and you would be better off getting a gym membership or buying some workout dvds or something.....or even buying a treadmill or elliptical.0 -
So for tracking just not even log it?0
-
why don't you invest in a HRM and use that on the machine......that way for sure you'll know how worth it to you the machine is. You already spent this much money on this machine a HRM will only run you another 80-120$ more for a good one like a Polar. It might work wonders for you, but for me it's just for fun and more for circulation than anything.0

I highly doubt they do much of anything other than be gimmicky and vibrate people.
sounds hot0 -
I don't mean to throw you down but based on the website you gave and the "how to use section" here:
http://www.crazyfit.com.au/Using-the-Machines.html
If you do that and keep a balanced and healthy eating plan you will probably loose weight but effectively what you've bought is a very expensive step that vibrates.0 -
Oh I do have one its tracked by my Droid phone but just like weight lifting your heart rate doesnt fluxuate that much even though you are still burning calories and building muscle.0
-
To get the best accurate reading from a HRM you need to wear one that has a chest strap. It's a watch you wear while doing any physical activity. When I strength train I can burn 300-400 calories in an hour since I do get my heart rate up, totally worth calculating in my opinion.0
-
I checked out the website and Holy Cow! Can you get your money back? That is one expensive step. Unless there is some medical reason you need it, I would return it.0
-
My heart rate does rise when I am lifting and/or doing strength training. It is definitely not as high as cardio, but the goal is different. cardio is for burning today calories and strength training, while it burns some calories today, is for future calories.0

Yeah the main reason I got it is after my term in the US ARMY I left with some serious injuries... The soldier side of me says oh you will be ok do PT anyway .... Then I later regret it . As far as cost this one is only 100$ on amazon.com. I have wasted more $$ on Force Factor supliments.0

You got a great deal on it! I figured you plunked down like 500-2000$
You know what I'd use it and not count it as anything. Do your regular workouts (additional to this machine) and count anything the vibration can do for you as a bonus.0
