Calling UK ppl DIET CHEF

Hi People,

anybody form the uk using DIET CHEF...is so how good is it and would u reccomend it..how soon did u guys feel a difference and are u full on it....

is it worth investing in ...220 a month is quite a lot of money but will have to consider if nothing else works???

    Hiya, I'm not using it at the moment but I have used it in the past. The food is really nice and it was VERY convenient (nothing took more than 3 mins to cook). I must admit I did feel hungry when I was on it, but I know of others who said they didn't at all....

    Have to say, I havent heard of this particular one, but you dont need gimmicks, honestly, count your calories and eat healthy food and you will lose weight, also add exercise as well. If you start a diet like the one you mentioned or any of the other ones, then you cant sustain it forever and will put the weight back on. The only way forward to is re educate yourself about healthy living and it becomes a life style that you can keep to.

    My cousins bought a load of these food packets from home bargains at £1 a pack. To be honest i was suprised at how small they looked, but then that's how you lose the weight. She said they tasted okay though and at that price it was worth a shot mostly for convenience for her. It wasn't that long ago, might be worth you seeing if there is one near you to sample some of the dishes, before spending any money.

    Just started on Diet Chef .... so far I have found the food to be very tasty, a lot better than the Weightwatchers ready meals and so far I have not had too much of a problem with hunger pangs.

    I started Diet Chef yesterday . . . . Granola - gorgeous, cheese bites - gorgeous, butternut squash and coconut soup - gorgeous, salmon and vegetable bake - never again!!!!! Ham and Sweetcorn chowder - YUM!!!!
    Reserving judgement on the Lasagne until later!

    Personally, in my opinion, I am always sceptical of these 'Diet Chef' type things. During the process you aren't really educating yourself about how to prepare healthy and nutritious food. I think for me that has been the learning curve of losing weight, that in order to do so you need to learn how to make filling, healthy meals.

    I would also be nervous about how I would maintain the loss when I stopped.

    On day 6 here and it's so far so good. Tasty meals, real food, good to remind oneself about portion sizes! And very easy. For me the worst thing about dieting is thinking about food. I obsess. I don't have to think on this and that's great. Plenty of snacks available throughout the day which suits me. Easy to pack lunch for work too.

    I agree, don't have the temptation of the greasy spoon, or Asda, KFC , chip shop and chinese round the corner at lunch time. It is a great idea for the busy lifestyle and to get a grip on portin sizes.

    I have tried it before, and I dont think its worth the money. It is basically a calorie controlled diet, and you can do that on your own using MFP and a supermarket!

    It really only works for people who dont have the time to prepare food, but if you do, then why bother?

    I did a week trial and lost 3lbs in 5 days (a good loss for me).

    It shows you how important portion sizes are and how versatile 'dieting' can be. You get a breakfast, lunch and evening meal as well as snacks and need to make up 400 calories yourself. As the portions were small, i used the 400 cals to bulk out the meals with fresh fruit and veg (and of course set some of the cals away for the milk for breakfasts). Nutritionally, it's all worked out so it isnt a gimmick - it is just calorie counting and convenient.

    I did like it because it gave me inpiration but i do know that i can buy a bag of granola and weigh out 40g myself, make a homemade soup for less than the cals their soups are worth and make my own low fat evening meal of a bigger portion and lower in cals than the diet chef meals.

    If you like convenience, then yes, it is handy but if you know you can do better (and yes, i can do much better and be more conserving of calories in meals) then you dont need diet chef.

    Although i did like most of the meals, there were some that just reminded me of baby food. And there were some i was glad that i only bought one of - so if you are doing a big package with them, make sure it will be meals you will most probably like rather than be stuck with lots that you think are awful.

    I've been using diet chef for the last 2 weeks and find it to be great. The meals are unexpectedly good and customer services are far more helpful than is the norm these days. In the two weeks I have used diet chef perhaps 75% of the time and the rest I've eaten with friends or family and used myfitnesspal to make sure I stay approximately on track.

    Normally to diet successfully I get bit a obsessive about food. What diet chef gives me is the ability to lose weight successfully without thinking about it too much. It quietly educates over portion sizes and generally makes life easier. Logging it all in myfitnesspal brings a great understanding of the nutritional balance of what I'm eating and makes it easy to take days off the diet chef programme.

    Another great thing about diet chef is that it brings a much greater variety of meals to our dining table. I love to cook and experiment with interesting recipes, breads etc when socialising, but most days we're working hard and focussed on that, which results in us eating the same meal day after day, pasta and sacla, or cheese on toast, or quorn mince and onions. diet chef gives variety without effort. It's great.

    I was quite nervous about taking the diet chef plunge, but glad I did.
