Hey all - just wanted to introduce myself! I came to this site after seeing the tickers on a lot of people's Biggest Loser League comments. I love the community feeling here :flowerforyou: , and I think the food diary is great. I'm thinking I'll probably use this instead of BLL.
One question though - does it matter if I am under the calorie allotment for the day (by about 400 calories)? I mean, obviously I'll eat I'm if hungry, but what if I'm not? I know that too few calories isn't good for your body, but does 400 make a difference?
Thanks!

If under goes below 1200 it does matter -starvation mode - there's lots of posts out there on that. I am sure someone wil l shoot you the links. (I am not sure how to)0

400 makes a huge difference! when you eat less it slows down your metabolism so when you finally do eat you body holds onto it because it doesn't know when its going to get nutrition again. try to get in the habit of eating smaller snack-like (200-300 calories) meals every 3 hours or so... see if that will balance out your nutritional needs...0

p.s. welcome!0

i'm a newbie too. joined just this week. I'm not sure about the calorie thing either. I'm just excited to see a site like this. We are doing a biggest loser at work and I'm not winning. I only need to lose about 10 lbs but would like to lose 20lbs. I'm a newly wed too so me and my new husband both had to go on diets. I guess we put on that newly wed 15.0

Thanks!! I am still getting lots of nutrition - a little over 1400 calories - and lots of protein, so I hope that answers my own question. I guess I should just realize that not every day will go as well as yesterday and today, but if they do I'll lose 2 lbs a week instead of 1 lb. Thanks for all the input!
WShope - congrats on the recent wedding and good luck in your biggest loser at work!0
