What are some healthy sushi restaurant options I can have that won't kill my calorie intake?

I try to avoid the sauces, tempura and California rolls or ask for the rolls without the mayo. Anything with a lot of rice will increase your calorie intake. Sometimes I will enter stuff in prior to going to see what my caloric intake allows and how much sodium hit it will be, if you go with a plan it helps a lot.

Sashimi, seaweed salad and gomae (cooked spinach salad) are all excellent choices. Avoid anything fried and too much white rice. The miso soup is very nourishing and low calorie but only if you can afford the sodium, it is extremely high.

Sushi is pretty much a really good choice. BUt nothing with "tempura", that means fried (actually it's the batter I think, but yeah, they don't batter it unless they are going to fry it). Spicy tuna rolls, and avacado rolls are my favorite. One of each (so 8) is a good 500 calorie meal.
