I have been keeping under calories, under sodium intake, drinking plenty of water. I don't exercise yet because I can't. I lost weight for the past 2 weeks, and then today I am up 1 lb, how in the heck does that happen??

Your weight will always fluctuate a pound or two every day so don't get discouraged if it goes up a little sometimes. Keep doing what you're doing and eventually add in some exercise (when you can) and the weight will come off.

I had to retrain myself to not rely or even look at the scale. I weigh in once a week. Scales fluctuate and it's all about the inches and how you feel. This is a lifestyle change and it doesn't happen overnight. It took me years to put all the extra weight on so I have to remind myself that it will take time to take it off. Don't give up and keep doing what your doing.

My 6 month weight loss graph has so many little ups and downs that it looks like a beat up saw blade, but it continues to angle down. Just keep going, and trust the trend. 6 months from now you won't care about today's gain, or if it turns out to be a week long plateau, because if you just hang in there and keep it up, you'll get that pound and many more to come off between now and then. I certainly understand the discouragement, but try not to let little hiccups discourage you too much.

Keep doing what you are doing. Every once in a while we retain water. As others have mentioned there does not have to be a reason. I have been at a plateau for a few weeks and I know that it will go down as long as I don't give up. Sometimes it is that I have not been getting my usual amount of sleep, I am a little stressed, or life has thrown me a little curve and my body reacts. I always remember that this to will pass and I will be on the other side of the plateau.
