Kashi - Yay or Nay?

I need more protein in my diet and I was told to try Kashi Go Lean cereal. It surely has a lot of protein for one cup, which is more than an egg! I was wondering how much it generally costs or if it's worth it. They have some other tasty looking products I wouldn't mind trying. Tell me about your experiences with it! :blushing:

I don't have a full bowl of it every day, because it is expensive, but I mix some in with other cereals. It doesn't have a ton of taste, but hey, more protein!0

I say YAY for sure. I really have liked all their products I've tried. The price is pretty reasonable too. Also try greek yogurt and add Kashi cereal and whatever type of fruit you like. Yum! I use the greek yogurt with honey.0

I like the cinnamon wheat squares what ever they call it. They only problem for me with cereal is it takes a huge amount out of my carb budget.0

I eat their protein bars every night that I work. They're delicious! Everything I've tried that they make is really good.0

I love it. Giant usually has it for $3 or even less when it goes on sale. I eat it plain without milk. They also make some other great cereals.
There granola bars are amazing too. There's so many flavors, crunch and chewy. They never use HFCS in any of their products. They're awesome and I've never had a bad product from them.
I don't work or get paid for saying these things. It's just straight truth.

Kashi makes amazing frozen waffles! Just as soon as I got used to buying them every week our stinking Walmart stops selling them, go figure! I say go for it! I have loved all of their products that I have tried!0

I agree, expensive, but not terribly sodium laden and it tastes like "real" food.
The bars are good if you have to eat and run. The GoLean is also good, but I'm not sure I'd eat it without skim milk.0 -
I put a quarter of a cup of Kashi in my morning yogurt, along with raspberries and blueberries. (I also add a tablespoon of pecans.)0

I loveeeeee the original. Sometimes I add cinnamon to give it more taste, and yes because it's a bit expensive sometimes I mix it with another cereal. I have gotten it for $2.50 at Wegmans by me though.0

I'm not a huge fan of it. I use ISO Femme bars instead. They have less sugars and are lower in calories, plus I feel fuller longer. They are soooo good!0

I eat Kashi - Go Lean! Crunch almost every morning for breakfast. I like it a lot, obviously. :P0

go lean was recommended to me by my trainer in order to get more protein since I can't stand eating eggs and what not for breakfast. It really helps!! I think its worth the money. I can take it to work with me and eat it at my desk.0

I eat the original... I really like the taste of it, and it packs a TON of protein too... I've just started eating it a few days ago and it seems worth it to me... yes it is expensive but look for sale prices and its not too bad... high protein and fiber and low fat and sugar (which is what this is) helps me loose weight the fastest... but I was reading an article that too much 'puffed' cereal isn't good for you... so I keep it to just a bowl a day0

It is tasty, I think the serving size is 2/3 a cup. We got it at Costco for 8 bucks it was huge though. They ran out of it and now we have the Nature's Path Organic - Heritage Ancient Grains Almond Granola it has 5 grams of protein taste about the same.0

Go Lean Crunch is my favorite as well. I get the kind with almonds and flax seed to add the extra protein, etc.0 -
I looooove Kashi. My favorites are the Wild Oats and Blueberry Clusters, Strawberry Fields and the fruit and nut trail mix bars. The only thing I dislike (and this goes for pretty much every cereal) is that it takes a lot from my carbs and fills up most of my sugar allowance for the day. But I'm usually over on sugars every day anyway so I don't let it bother me. Nomnom, I just finished my last box yesterday. Have to go get more.0

Mmm. yes I love their waffles! And their pizzas are good. Actually I've never tried anything by Kashi that I didn't like. Some I like better than others. I really love the chewy granola bars, their cereals and the 7 grain pilaf. I wish they'd sell the pizza crusts plain because I like to make my own pizzas but like their crust better than any other whole grain I've tried.0 -
I'm addicted to regular Kashi GoLean. I use it with almond milk (I'm allergic to milk) and it is soooo yummy and filling. It's comparably priced to other cereals and is by far the most nutritious breakfast I have found - not only does it have a lot of protein, but it also has tons of fiber and very little sugar (6 g).0

Their stuff can be pretty expensive, so I would look for sales and coupons if you can. I have had some kashi products that left me craving a cardboard box because it was so bland, and I have had other kashi products that were very tasty. You may need to try a few to find what you like.0

I really like Kashi Go Lean Crunch but it is a little high in sugars. You can't beat the fiber and protein though! I like to mix equal parts Go Lean Crunch with plain Green yogurt. It is a protein bomb in a bowl!
If any of you belong to a warehouse club, look for Go Lean Crunch. The one I go to (BJs) has it for $8 which is two sealed bags that are much larger than standard size and works out to be fairly cheap.0 -

I eat their cereals (Island Vanilla and Cinnamon Harvest) almost every morning. Their TLC crackers are AWESOME; fire roasted vegetable, asiago cheese, and the original seven grain are great with some cheese squares. If you have a sweet tooth their cookies (trail mix and dark chocolate) are a good fix for the sweet tooth. My wife loves the pumpkin spice flax bars as a quick breakfast; I like them just for a snack.
I do NOT work for Kashi... I just really like their stuff because they taste good and are good nutritionally.0 -
I like many of the Kashi products that I've tried. Since you specifically asked about the regular Go Lean Cereal, yes, I like it too. It's definitely much more filling than most cereals. Most days it will last me till lunch, and if I do need a morning snack it will just be something small like a string cheese or small piece of fruit. Around here the cost is quite comparable to other cereals at $2.88 per box.0
