I am new here, and restarting a weight loss journey, yet again, that has historically ended abruptly. I was think prior to marriage, (at 23) and now at 28 find myself 50 lbs heavier than when I was married...which was still 15 lbs more than I wanted to be in the first place. I'm not sure what my end goal will be but at this point I have a 'minimum' weight loss goal to get down to 150 (from what I think is 200) and reassess. We're working off the 200 lb marker because that's what I was around Christmas, and I haven't checked since. When my husband hooks up the wii this week I'll use it to check my weight (I don't have a scale).
I have a lot of 'By 30' goals. By the time I'm 30 I want straight teeth, to be thin, and a 'grown up' hair cut! I have invisalign, and am working on becomming debt free for the 'salon' day.
So losing weight while on the DaveRamsey plan, which must not entail rice and beans but some mega couponing skills!
My husband is a type 1 diabetic who frequently gets extreme low blood sugars, so we always have an abundance of juice and candy around. This makes life difficult.
All of the storeies I've read here so far have been a great inspiration.
I live in Phoenix, so, exercizing requires indoor memberships (Can't afford) or waking up very very early. I'm working on the second part of that

I'm from Tucson so, I feel ya on the hot weather. Try walking/running outside after the sun goes down. Higher heat = sweat = calorie burn. For indoor activities and can't afford a gym membership, use paint cans or water jugs to lift weights. Fill the water jugs with rocks after the water becomes too light. Do push ups even if they're on your knees, for a tri/shoulder/chest work out. Hell, start off by doing 1 per day. Then 2 per day the week after, etc. You can do it. You don't need a gym membership!

Hi Duke
I like your signature For the first 24 years of my life I was a 'doer'. Then (with a few exceptions for particular activities) I checked out. So reading that was kind of like my snooze alarm going off again
You're right about the going out when the sun is DOWN. We have lots of javolena's where I live, but I have the safe route down I think lol. Either way I hate walk/running. I am going to go get my bike tuned up because I am So SICK of walking, and I barely walk. I find it incredibly dull...but I do need to do SOMETHING free. So I think the bike is a good alternative for now. That or rolor blading. Regardless I'm makin the hubby very nervous (or friend had a life threatening bike accident last fall), but I told him he'll have to deal because I'd rather NOT live at all than live like this the rest of my life.
I remember what it's like to be fit, and I liked it so much more!!!!
I actually can do a real push up lol Just not many of them. My legs have always been strong, arms not so much. Which is odd since most of my weight is in my legs...I am a pear, don't really gain weight up top that much comparatively.
Wish we lived in Tucson, it was our first choice when we moved, but the job offer here was better.
Cute baby!0
