Nope. I was a normal 7 lbs, 2 oz at birth, and was a healthy and fit child. I developed pretty quick and maybe a little early and I think that started my battles with weight. I didn't know as a young woman how to suddenly make changes to match how my body was changing. I pretty much yo-yo dieted through my 20s. I got big and got little and back and forth because I was never doing it the right way. Unfortunately it took a long time and many failed attempts before I finally understood what had to be done and that is what I have done this time around. I changed my lifestyle completely. That is the only way.
And Soupy......I had a c-section too.....hmm, I think I am going to start doing a ton of crunches on a daily basis on top of what I already do!!
C-sections SUCK!!!!!! Period!!!!
I do 800 crunches a day and it seems to be helping alot.
Do it and like it missy!
Can you sit on my feet at least?? :ohwell: :laugh:0 -

I have always FELT big all my life, but looking back in pictures I see that I wasn't. I know weight is all relative, but looking at pictures of myself in grade school or even highschool I was not fat at all. I've always had a bit of a potbelly, but aside from that, I was fine. Too bad I didn't know that then.
I think the reason was, despite not being overweight, I've never been skinny skinny and apparently being a little more muscular and curvy and not stick thin as a kid makes ya feel fat amongst your peers. So oddly enough, the next time I go to the doctor, I'm going to check my chart and find out what I weighed in high school and make that my goal weight.
I'm always curious when I hear so many of you say you have a goal of being the weigh you were in highschool, and this isn't just from peeps in their 20's but all ages.....My gosh I think now on High School and I would never want to go back, life has just gotten better and better with each decade ....and being the weight we all were in high school? Is is because it was your (this is a statement to anyone ..not just you:happy: )...lowest weight thus far in life?
Somebody 'Splain it to me please....don't misunderstand...I'm not knocking anyone for wanting to be whatever weight they want...but I hear it so often on here......and I'm not sure I truly understand.....we were little KIDS in highschool....LOL why would we expect our bodies to be the same weight as way back then?
Ok, always a curious girl here....loving to understand someones brain and how their minds work....don't mind me....I like to pick brains and understand the 'whys' :drinker: :flowerforyou:
Oh Gosh, I would never want to actually go back to high school, yuck! Not that is was awful, just that the idea of going back to all of that drama of being a teenager sounds awful.
So I have a few reasons why I want to go back to that weight. Like I said, I was never stick thin, so I don't think of my weight senior year as being a "kid". I developed very early (around 5th grade) so my body wasn't "kid like" at all senior year. And like I said, not being stick thin, I think I was a very healthy, reasonable weight back then and would like to repeat it. It was also back when I had more energy and played tennis at school, so it's no wonder I was a better weight.
The other reason is that I cannot pick a number and say what I should be. Being that I gain muscle easily and have a rather short and solid build, I have never agreed with the BMI charts. For my height and age I think I am "supposed" to weigh around 120-130. It could be negativity, or it could be knowing my body but I really don't think I would look or be healthy at that weight. But yet I don't want to discount it incase I really could be...so now knowing that I looked like a nice healthy weight in highschool, I'd like to find out what that number is, and make that my goal.0 -
I was like a lot of you I was 9lbs 11oz when I was born but the difference is I never had any weight problems until after high school. It was then that I began gaining the weight about 10 lbs before I got married and then another 15 after I got married. Then I had my first baby and put on another 15 pounds. It wasn't until after my second baby and while my husband was deployed in Iraq that I decided to lose it. I got down to 127 in December 2007 and stayed there for about 2 months. But then I started eating bad and quit going to the gym. In the next 8 months I put on 31lbs just like that. Almost all the weight I had gained in the last 3 years poof was back on. So here I am again back to trying to lose the weight again. The only difference is this time I am getting it off and keeping it off!0

Puttin' it in my topics so I can finish reading this in the morning and reply ... I was supposed to have been in bed a long time ago!0

Nope.
Having a sit down job for a few years did it. That and eating too much fast food.
After having a C-section....it didn't help my stomach muscle tone either. I got it back thankfully......without surgery.
Once that went away, so did my fat.
I would never, though, let my weight get out of control. Denial is one thing....but geez.
How'd you get it back, Soup??....I've had 2 c-sections and that's my biggest problem area.
Man...it was hard girl! Crunches, crunches and more crunches! Alot of people believe that they don't have to do stomach work daily....but you do. Just keep doing it, along with a great weight lifting and cardio routine to build more muscle and fat, and it will happen.
I believe in the strength training. I cant see all the muscles, but I FEEL them.
When I go to get out of bed, my body lifts me.
Sounds silly, but 1 year ago I couldnt get out of bed without rolling out (also had a neck inj) I was weak and my body was responding to no physical work.
I am glad I listened 4 months ago and do my crunches, squats and pushups religously.

Hi
I was a chubby baby but by 1/2nd grade thinned out...thank goodness I have no memories of being made fun of etc
All through HS/college I was a size 6ish and thought I was a COW..*eyes rolling and smacking myself in the head*
After baby #1 was born, I was back in my pre-pg clothes withing 3 mnths....I would take him with me and walk everywhere
Even though #2 was planned and we conceived when ds was 18mnths....when that pg test came back +...I was floored....anxious...scared..started emotional eating BIG TIME etc
I gained too much weight with that pg and put on even more after the was born
In order to go to my 8 week post-ob check up, I had to buy a size 14 pair of pants
I leveled off to a size 10 or 12 and stayed there until she hit 3yrs and finally found this site and decided to stay motived to loosing weight and working out
I started here in Jan and by May lost 27 pounds...
