Concerned about my calorie intake

Kinda concerned, got a message saying how few calories i consumed. I didn't even get to 1200 and I felt like I ate all day. I ate a little over half in suggest calories, protien, fat and carbs. I have the lapband so its hard for me to eat alot at one time. I ate through out the whole day and I made lots of healthy choices with my foods. I also made sure I drank alot of water. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks. (btw, this was just day one. maybe I was "TOO" food conscience?)

since you have the lapband, is your calorie count supposed to be less? i know with that you can't eat a whole lot, but did your doctor say if you're supposed to eat a certain amount?0

Maybe try to add some calorie-dense foods like nuts into your diet? I'm not sure what the rules are for the whole lap-band thing. I know that you can't have a lot of food volume/mass, which would lead me to believe that you have to be more vigilant in choosing calorie-dense foods in order to meet your goals. But then again, I'm not sure what the calorie goals are for someone who has had that procedure. That's definitely something you should discuss with your physician.
Edit:
Well, I was wrong. Go figure. Did a quick Google search for "recommended lap-band diet" and came up with this link from the University of California at San Diego. = http://bmi.ucsd.edu/weight-loss-surgery/lap-band/postop/Pages/diet.aspx
More dietary information from a lap-band website = http://www.lapband.us/diet-restrictions.html
What I've gathered is that you won't be able to get to 1200 calories by following their guidelines. So ignore the MFP recommendations, and follow whatever dietary plan your doctor has laid out for you. I would probably recommend a multivitamin, but again, I'm not a physician.0 -
I don't know too much about lapband, but I would definitely take it into consideration when choosing your calorie goals. Don't let them get too low though. Make sure you're getting all your nutrients with so low calories. I used to deprive myself to about 500 calories a day and exercise 200 + to make my net around 300. My hair and nails starting thinning and I had to take a multivitamin. I'm still working on getting my calories up, but my protein and fiber and other essentials are higher for my lower calories. Keep an eye on it so you don't have to worry about that happening! Best of health. :flowerforyou:0

I've had these days. I try to eat every 2-3 hrs, so when I haven't reached my calorie goal, it seems weird because it feels like I've been eating ALL DAY. If it happens every once in a while, don't worry. I'd assume you should speak to someone who specializes i n lap bands and diets, but I'd assume you can eat nearly whatever you want since, by default, you can't eat it in excess. By having a limited food intake AND eating healthy (which lowers your calories), I just don't see you getting to 1200. Good luck!0
